Post Kill Criteria

I REALLY hate all these posts about stock RS's beating Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs etc. The posts uually go like this "A (put car name here) pulled up at the stop light. The stop light turned green and I blew him away. Did I mention it was raining?" Stop jerking yourselves off!!! So what if you beat the other car for the 1st 100 feet?! Whoop-di-f***ing-doo. Do they give the gold medal to the runner who leads first or to the runner who finishes first? Also, it's NOT a kill if the race took place in the rain. That's like hunting in a zoo. Are we, as Subaru owners, so damn pathetic that we'll take any victory, no matter how insignificant, as something worthy of posting? Enough. Screw the flame suit.

I beat a 300ZX at a stoplight about a week ago. I was about 2 car lengths ahead at 60 then they quit. After they got beat they started saying how it was an automatic. It was N/A too.

I also busted this Cougar V6 real easily. The lady driving it pulled up to the light next to me. It was obvious her lane ended but she thought she could take the suby.
I had her by about 3 car lengths at the top of second gear.

Both the races were straightline on dry pavement. They were late at night when no one was around, and didn't go over 70 mph.

Got a "kill" on a Mustang a while back. It was tough, it took 4 shots from my .45 auto directly into the radiator to kill it.

Ahh taking out Mustangs James Brown style! Now that's funny. What was it he said when he shot his Mercedes? Oh yah I shot it once cause I was pissed, shot it again cause I thought it sounded cool. When the cops came to the house I went back inside. After they have guns too.

hmm, ok, we race a stang, in the dry, on a straight track, it kills us. Did it ever cross your mind that straight and dry is the MUSTANGS TURF?!?!?!? So it's ok for us to race on their turf, but they can't race on ours? Give me a break. A friggin race is a race, I don't care if it's going in reverse in the rocky moutains. It's still a damn race. You sound like a sore loser, I HATE people who make excuses for a loss, so just shut up and can it. damn...

Unless its sanctioned*, the race is as short, or as long as you want it. For most Subaru folks, we prefer the short races. Rightly so, as our cars are better equiped for the shorter distance. I mean, dead-eye, would you take drag car, and go up against an indy car in the 500? Of course not, the drag car is not meant for long distances, as the indy car is. Just like you wouldnt take an indy car against a drag car, as indy cars are not meant for the short distance races.

Nuff said.

I beat an SR-71 last night. Then on my way home, someone shot at my car but I out ran the bullet, swerved the car sideways, opened the window and caught the bullet with my teeth - Joe Isuzu style!

Did I mention it was NOT raining?

If you believe that, Group buy on the Golden Gate Bridge, if anyone is interested.

Don't mess with this puppy.

I'm all about what Chase is saying.

Can we kill the "BS" flags? If you don't believe someone's "brag", just shake it off and move on. It wouldn't kill you to be indifferent.

STI Sev,

Calling me a liar eh? Would you have accepted defeat without even trying?

I wasn't sure if I could beat it but I tried and I did. They were surprised too, thats why they were making excuses about the automatic.

Also, with my mods I'm pushing 190 hp, I had almost no gas in the tank and the ZX had 2 passengers. I'm not afraid to say I've been beat before but this Nissan lost to a Subaru twice in 5 minutes.

I got a kill on thursday. I was driving a stock 84 300zx. I am gonna trade in my truck for a turbo impreza when they come here. But any way I beat a turbo eclipse by like 2 car lengths. But then I got caught by the police. It sucks, got the car impounded and looking at like a $700 fine for racing and a $800 impound fee if I decide to get the car out. It isn't worth $800 so I don't know if I will get it out.

That could be worse. A while back one of the cities announced that if they catch you racing they take your car, sell it and the state gets the cash. You even may lose you license along with it. Now that's a rough punishment. For guys making payments still they will not like the idea of making car payments on something the state took and sold.

wolve80,
Whoa. I guess I must have touched a sensitive cord. Ok, ok. Stop crying. Come on out from under your pillow. Take the knuckle out of your mouth. There, there. You're still the king of the 50-foot drag race. Ok?
Hey, I just want us as a group to be a little more selective before we make boastful claims. Is it wrong to raise the bar? You're definitely right when you say straight and dry is the Mustang's turf. But when we BEAT them on THEIR turf, it becomes OUR turf. If you're content to rule in the rain, good for you. I guess you don't have a problem with underachieving.

I don't mean to get off on a rant here but,
I believe its ok to be proud of when you win in the rain. Because for some people (me at least) bought the car for that to beat people in adverse conditions thats driving. Striaght and dry ain't driving its slamming the gas and mashing gears... i'm not down playing driver skill but that ain't fun for me. The one thing I Really hate though, is that "I beat him the first 50 feet". You don't win if you lead for a couple car lengths! The one thing, THE SINGLE THING, the Si club has over us is that they post getting beat by other cars. Guess what our car gets beat all the time, and we are trying to make up for it by saying i won the first 50 ft. Screw that you LOST! Get over it. Its gonna happen its the nature of buying a car that can take off, but then levels off. I love this car and the way it is. I swear if I ever post some crap like I won for the first whatever ft. ....take my car away from me I don't deserve it.

So you want us to be more selective as a group in our races? You try to get that point across by b****g like a little girl about the war stories people post. Please. Don't try to flame me because your words got tossed back in your face. Did you read Suby's post? What about what he said. A race is a race, who cares what it's on, where it is, or who's turf it's on. If it's in the rain we have the advantage, if it's dry and straight, they do. LIVE WITH IT, and quit complaining about the stories. Lastly, we will never take over the big V8s turf, you want to think that we can? Keep dreaming, our car's aren't designed to. When we can break into the 9sec 1/4mi while still keeping the car street drivable with a full stock interior then maybe, but I don't see that happening, ever. So, you go and try to beat the V8s on the strip, I'll keep it on the Auto-X.

Some people, man. Hey Alex, can you lock this thread before it becomes a flame war?

Lets see, this weekend I beat off the line several Honda's, Neons, I think I had a GS eclipse at 60' but when I heard the pssssst I knew I was toast. I even out 60'ed a 400 HP AWD DSM with gigantic tires. In fact the only car that beat me to my knowledge on the right side 60' were mod cars (you know, open wheel racers). It wasnt raining, and we had to turn at about 200'. But is it fair to compare my 4WD scooby off the line to a FWD Honda. Yes, it is, we are in the same class right? Im not crying because the GS eclipse was taking over at 200', on slicks, with AWD and a turbo. And Im not complaining that the 400HP DSM had over 10 inch wide tires. Nor that the mod car weighed less than 1/2 of my car. But I can tell you, if it had been raining, I would have beaten that mod car too (LOL) but then, that wouldnt be fair now would it.

wolve80,
Hey, I guess things are getting a little out of hand in no small part to me. I could say some nasty things but I won't. We're a small group as it is and it doesn't help our cause to bicker amongst each other. I do see your side of things and I have to agree on some points. Let's just leave it at that. No hard feelings, ok?
