Isnt that some sad stuff? That is my worse fear. Why do people do things like that. I thought humans were by nature opportunistic, but to maliciously harm someone without and means of profit is just sad. PLEASE jack my wheels, take my wing, but why key my car?

Have a Nice Day?

That totally sucks. Someone keyed my dad's new Altima last year -- same thing -- for no reason whatsoever... why would someone want to do something so cruel to someone they don't even know...

That's just wrong. I think there should be a fine for half the price of the car so maybe the jealous people that do stupid thing like that might think twice. I never understood people that are that pathetic that they have to damage other people's property. Low self worth, I guess. It's just to bad other people have to suffer. Can you say, Sonic blue?

People do stupid ***** like that, IMHO anyway, because they do not have respect for their own property and therefore have no respect for anyone elses. When someone is jealous enough to do that to someone's property they probably do have low self worth and many other problems in their life.

Once the favor is returned to them, in one way or another, in their own lives maybe they will finally learn. We can only pray.

Very sorry to hear this, Pilot. Hope your insurance will cover it...quickly and smoothly.

Pilot---I feel your pain. Earlier this week I was walking to my car to go to work in the morning and found out that someone WALKED across my hood in their boots. I don't know how it happened since the hood wasn't dented, but the tread pattern of four footprints walk right across my hood scratching the crap out of the paint...arghh. The thing was I wasn't blocking driveways, sidewalks, anything, someone just decided to mess up my car. I am currently working (to pay for Subie and mods) and living near Cornell and it seems like these kids just don't have respect since mommy and daddy can buy them Land Rovers and TT's among other $40k cars.

pilot, i know what you mean.
Just a couple of weeks ago my RS got kicked (leaving a nasty dent) while in a parking lot, and cost me $300 to get fixed. Wasn't worth claiming from insurance so i ended up paying for it myself. I was not happy

Maybe it's a case of trunk monkey envy or something.

Man that really blows.

Personally, I think the worst part is that they quoted you for a new paint job almost when they quoted me for some major hail damage (on all but front left fender and left door). I hate insurance companies, and I hate a**holes that destroy your property for no reason. Have some respect.

Man....sorry to hear that. I'm gonna get two video cameras that records one frame per second just so I can catch the sons of bitches that do it to my car. Then I'll cut their fingers off when I catch'em.

It really frustrates me how easy it is to dent the metal on most cars nowadays. And it always costs a fortune to fix!
Some European cars (like the Land Rover Freelander) come with dent resistant plastic panels. When you hit them they just bend back! Of course because of safety there are only certain places where these panels can be fitted.

Angry

I feel your pain. I am very (some say overly) protective of my cars, even my old 93 shadow with all it's paint chips and accumulated dents. I go out of my way to not even touch someone else's car when I park next to them. I will park next to large obstacles way on the other end of the parking lot, just to feel better/safer. God help the person who ever does anything like that to my Sube. That's why I why I I am making sure to get an alarm with the pager feature. That way I can run out and stomp to SOB and then kick his mom's A$$ for letting him grow up that way. I have no faith in humanity, it is obvious human technology has outstriped the Darwin effect, else those ba$tards that key cars and the like would have been eaten by lions before they made it to 10. Another thing is that due to everybody being so sue happy you can't kick someones a$$ when they do something stupid. They way I figure it those kinds of people are too stupid to realize they are FUBAR'ing things. They need a good stomping so they will remember what not to do. Pain is the best teacher.

Take the Ahole who try'ed to brake jack me the other day on I-83S before Hunt Valley(40-50 gray haired prick in his black Acura Legend MD plate SBK 802). He nearly send me off the road (thank you ABS and AWD), so I was seeing RED big time. I wanted blood, but the clear thinking logical side told, "Report the prick to the police". I found out they won't do diddly (not that I expected them to arrest the guy, I just wanted them to notify him that he was reported, so he would relalize that was a bad thing to do), so next time I follow him and flat his tires and kill his dog .

I feel better know. Like cheap therapy.

Thats the price we pay for owning a unique car. People just get off on destroying beauty. I feel for you. . I fear that same fate everyday. and hope.

I'm going autocrossing tomorrow, maybe that will make me feel better.

Note: dent resistant plastic panels aren't "key" resistant.

At least I get to debadge my car for free, and I'm going to have the nose painted too cause it has lots of winter damage from sand and rocks and crap.

My insurance is going to cover it but I have a $1000 deductible so it will still cost me a grand.

Oh damn... I thought my $500 deductable was bad... Sorry to hear, man. My only suggestion is see if you can find a body shop, or someone that works in one, that'll do you a favor.

I used to have a Chrysler Cirrus (What the hell was I thinking??) that was also keyed. Unfortunately, for the guy who did it, someone told me who it was. Needless to say
I don't think he enjoyed a four day hospital stay. Nuf Said.

Our minivan was keyed 2 weeks after we spent $1,200 to get the left rear quarter panel fixed and painted after someone backed into an intersection we were going through. We hadn't even gotten the pinstrip reinstalled, and 3 years later still haven't - why bother with a long key scratch now.

People have no respect these days. When people do that kinda stuff to me, it tests my Christian Charity to the limits. Then I have to repent for wanting to "flat their tires and kill their dog"....

Rip his arms off, shove them up his ass, and use them to squeze his cold tiny black heart until he's dead! Tire him up an make him drink bleach! He better yet take the Saudi's lead and chop one of his hands off. I tell you if we started chopping off the hands of thieves, castrating sex offenders, using drunk drivers in crash tests, rapidly executing killers and a few other twisted ideas of mine we might be able to live safely. Oh steal a car and we chop off a hand and a foot! For drug trafficer we get out a F-ing giant catapult and launch their ass back across the boarder. With a 50lb bag a cured cement tired to them of course. I hate it when I see these things posted. I feel sorry for you guys. I hope you do at least end up with a good paint job afterwards.
