I'm not sure either, It is just not my cup of tea. I *gulp* orginally started out in the import world as a honda-mitsubishi 3000gt/eclipse fan and I guess I still have some of the styling influnces. and I guess I would be different which is one of the perks of being a subie owner

well you asked for so here it goes.
a long time ago in a galaxy very close a little boy (ME) saw the annaul auto issue of consumer reports. This got me interested in the 3000gt. So this was my only real "car" magazine for a while,Then in 1998 in the anual auto isssue I saw a pic of the 98 RS (bue with gold rims. *ahhhhh rally blue*, but it only came in two door I don't want two door (yes the 3000GT is a coupe, but I new I coulnd't afford that it was more of a dream car.then i read a turbo mag with an article about 3000GT with mods, yada yada yada, this go tme into the whole import scene. Then I got into my hatchback faze, four door golf....then civic hatch bach. there was this one red hatchback civic witha flame paint job that I thought was SOOOO COOOOL. :rolleyes; you thought I'm a riceboy now you shoulda seen me then. Anyways then I relized I wanted hood Scoops. something cheap. and wasn't a hatch, and something different. *bingo impreza*
For a while I was gonna get the coupe anyways cause it has a big backseat, but it wan't what I really wanted, then came the four door. and that sealed the deal.
IF the story is a little dificult to follow that is cuase i wrote it at midnight and I'm tired and my brain is fried from watching all that slo-mo in MI2

Top one looks like this one http://www.cobbtuning.com/impreza/appearance-rear.html ZERO Sports Much $$
Bottom looks alot like the Erebuni offerings www.spoilers.com under the bodykits then subaru then "wings for this car".

My personal preference is for the WRC style with the lowline brake light. REVTEC in canada http://www.revtec.com/ussubaru/itmidx1.htm
makes/has a resonably priced one that I have seen in person, it is however a replica. My wife tells me $270 is much better than 500-700 for genuine Prodrive or STi. I almost believe her.

Hope that helps
