Well it's official. My scoob is toast. I hit a curb last night fishtailed and flipped a few times, took out about 3 trees on Warwick Blvd. Landed upside down. I have to say I will be purchasing another Subaru just because I was so impressed with how I was able to get out of the car and walk away unharmed. I will post pics soon, but it is a total loss. Hopefully Geico pays my damn loan off those scammers. Anyways, I guess it's time to start looking for a beater L or something. Anybody know somebody selling a beater, subaru or not? Thanks

To let you know, the insurance company, after assertaining the total loss of the vehicle, will write off the market value (retail I believe) and apply that amount to the principle owed to the creditor (bank). be warned, you might in fact need to pay money to the bank.

Yeah, unless you got gap insurance, if you are upside down any on the retail value, you will take a hit. I got gap insurance through both Geico and the dealer. It's really cheap and pretty dumb to get double coverage, but if I total my wagon tomorrow, I will end up making money on the deal.

Sorry about your accident but luckily you are alive. No beaters on my radar, sorry.

mine is almsot a beater... its the same car as your RS...minus the rear disc brakes, and dashboard... but its got a MY99 2.5RS motor and interior..then im sure everyhtign else about my car was improved upon more than your RS was... but the best part is, insurance companies only know of it as an Impreza L...

I'm selling my 95 Legacy. Probably a lot cheaper than Murray's car, but probably not as fast/cool.

thanks a lot fellas, what is so funny you won't believe it but I was doing maybe 45 in a 35. the road got dark and I went to light a cigarette and my car drifted, boom, hit the right curb, blew out my front right, corrected it and it fishtailed. After that it was uncorrectable and I was sideaways and I drifted into the other side of the curb and that is what caused the roll. Thank god I did walk away from this, but like I said before I will be purchasing another Scoob, time for a real Rex probably, it's too bad because I love the coupe look

God does it for a reason, but I know he must have big things in store for me if he let me dodge this bullet. Time to create a Super Handling Scoob. I think that is probably the biggest thing about the Subaru's they are very very touchy, but I will take it anyday of the week over a FWD car. I do like that L and that is my plan, but I really just want a L beater to start a swap. Thanks for the support guys, taking pictures tomorrow

like i said..its an L..but its got a LONG list of mods... engine has fairly low miles too...drivetrain has over 130 though(still drives great..no issues with anything..just moving on to a bigger bug-eyed car..

sorry for a half hijack of the thread... im glad your OK, having been in a bad accident and a few close calls..i know where your comming from. i hope everthing works out with the insurance and pay-off and all... accidents that result in a total arent good for insurance records..
oh...and you shouldbt be smoking..it'l kill you someday... glad it wasnt last night though.

Yeah it looks nice aight don't get me wrong, but that right there is a little bit too much for me. When I meant beater I was saying like 3k max if that. Probably a old ass legacy or something if not time to turn to the dark side and get a beater Honda or something. I figure why spend 7k and not be 100% happy with it because I want a Rex. bad nights with curbs recently.....last night i hit a 5" tall center median and bent a tie rod, pushing my wheel out and causing the car to shake like hell when i drive it
