Woo Hoo! Can't wait to miss it! I hate Rosecrap. Maybe I'll come out to watch and take some video, but my tires cost too much to be torn up by that horrible surface.

Yeah, if I do any Rosecroft this year, I'm doing it on the RE92's. I would rather drive down to VMP than autox there!

I want to go but can anyone tell me what class i am in.

here are my mods:

STI 4 pot calipers, larger rotors in front and rear, SS brakelines

Lowering springs, sturts, bigger sway bar, polyerothane endlinks, anti-lift kit, front and rear strut tower braces

exhaust, no airbox for intake, no longer have stock steering wheel, not sure if it matters either but WRX seats too

umm i think thats it for the most part.

tia,

-jeremy

hope to see you all there. I think we might have a kart or two running at rose-chunk...

JSLEGACY - you can probably run in STX IF you dont use tires wider than 245, treadwear no lower than 140, and the rim must not be more than 8.5" wide. If you go over that (meaning you have better tires like Hoosiers or some kind of Racing compound tire), I believe you will fall in FSP (F class street prepared) or Street Modified.

I will probably be the tech inspector for this one. We'll try to help you out on classifications during registration if needed.

Mav1c,

It's a good time to get some rally tires on tarmac and just drift around every cone there is.

Jeremy - I am pretty sure you are legal for STS, except for the ALK. I am 99% sure that puts you in SM.

Jeremy, your 4 piston calipers put you into SM. And if I remember correctly the ALK isn't even legal in SM and throws you into E mod or something crazy like that. But I would say just run STS or SM for now, no one really cares to much about mods like that, that dont really do much. I doubt anyone will bother you.

I dont recall 4 piston brakes put him in a Mod class... in SM, the brakes are not restricted.. as long as it's OE sized, you can run in STX with the tire specs that I have given earlier.. upgrading using factory parts can come in all sorts of problems since that falls in "the dealer offers these upgrades as options" category... see this link.
http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Rule... Modifications

I wouldnt worry too much about the classing unless you whoop @$$ and someone protest that your car is totally illegal. At that point, we will just go over your car specs again with a fine comb to see if you are "cheating".. it's a safe bet to stay in SM if you dont know which mods are legal or not (since SM is all-out-do what-you-want-to-win class with just one rule, the engine manufacturer and chasis must be the same manufacturer, or you end up in a MODIFIED class). See the rest of the do's and don'ts here at:

SCCA rules and MWCSCC 2002 Rules

Ok my fault they are ok for STX, but I know for sure they aren't for STS. That is why I never put on the WRX brakes that I had.

That's RFL muffler, not BOV. I'm running stock BPV.

As long as you have a cat (high flow is fine) you're clear for STX I believe..

Default YO!

Hey guys I am getting my 2002 black scoobie WRX sedan this coming monday and I have already signed up for the rosecrap meet. I believe I am in DSN <D stock Novice> running in Heat 2 number 225. Hope to see you all there!!

I am already getting nervous just thinking about it.....

Quick question tho I know that all of the tracks can be different and use different techniques.....

I know doing clutch dumps will eventually if not immediatly kill the tranny <someone told me the nickname for the tranny is glass> Here is the question do you guys mainly stay in 2nd and first or are you even able to use 3rd at all??

Probably use 2nd the whole time, but you might need to go down to 1st. You'll never get into 3rd.

I've never hit 3rd... on a bigger course in Richmond I was at redline in 2nd but never at Rosecroft. Once you get into 2nd it's usually best to stay there... (there are some old threads in Motorsports about this) if you wanna double-clutch/heel-toe your way back into first while going around a 120 degree curve you are more talented than me

Launch usually is not that important because the course usually curves pretty fast so you can't get up a huge head of steam. I usually slip the clutch at about 3500-4000 RPM and that's plenty..

I don't know what you guys are talking about with having troubles getting back into first. I can shift back down no problem, no double clutching or anything like that....

Default 1st gear while movin

so the synchro mesh going into first will let you slip into 1st ..... what given speed is that recommended....I know my RSX Type S <when I owned it> would let you slip into 1st right around 10mph

I've had very little luck getting into 1st without double clutching. Rev-matching might work but you have to get the revs pretty accurate which is a lot harder when you are also trying to dodge cones. Shrug, maybe I got the Friday 1st gear synchro.

Slim: yeah but you can't launch at high RPM's at least
