Post Check these dyno results! (Impreza)

I'm pretty imprezed with these. Comparing them to the Sport Compact Car magazine's turbo build up on the RS...

Nothing like a nice, usable powerband. I thought your goal was to build a rally car?

I know the owner of that car...
hehehe, don't be fooled though I believe that run was made with the Venom's "Drag" mode which only injects nitrous at full throttle...
trust me it's fast...

What is the point of putting NOS on an Impreza? Can't use it for Rally not unless you want to go spinning out of control with power you can't plant. Are you going to use it on the street? This is how our owners can get a bad name by racing with the rice boys. Just venting I guess I do not understand.

Techgeek25 -
I wouldn't use it for rally.
If I did get it it would be strictly for quarter mile runs and yes I have had my fair share of stop light races I know alot maybe against it but I am just one of those types I guess.

Hondaslayer-
I Just hired two people for third wooho!
I am almost out of the hole but now I gotta hire two 2nd shifters! It never ends I tell you. Do you go through this as well?

I guess you don't understand. I know that you're not implying that just because he owns a subaru that he has to use it for rally. ??? So if he gets NOS and uses it, he is giving me a bad name. Yeah rrriiiiigggghhhhhttttt!!! Its his car, he can do whatever he wants to it.

Pinoy, MichiganRS has been asking a bunch of questions related to rallying and preparing a rally car. Nobody is saying all you can do with an Impreza is rally.

I'm confused by the hp at the wheels number that they give. How do they get 95 hp? Why do half the tuners get 95 hp and half get 127 hp? 95 can't be very realistic. I've seen dynos of 130 hp fwd cars that are showing 105-110 hp at the wheels, they weigh 2600 lbs, and they're running 0-60 in over 9 seconds. What gives? Anybody care to explain this?

Different Dynos, different results...It also requires calibration and such to make sure that numbers are correct and accurate, and if you ask me, judging from the different dyno plots and such at the same site, they are not that careful or check stuff the way they should. Some of the results they got are strance, and some are just wrong...

Looking at stock tests of a 2l beetle and a caviler, both of which made LESS than the stock impreza, it looks like the results for the impreza are correct, just a bit low.

A FWD car, making around 165 hp at the crank, SHOULD make aroud 130 HP to the wheels, and an AWD car SHOULD make around 120. Other dyno tests have shown that the impreza 2.5l tests right around there.

The good thing about this comparision to the SCC turbo is they both used the UPRD dyno. Also I will have to pull details but SCC stated the UPRD dyno reads lower than actual the best thing to do is do the trap speed & weight math to get HP numbers from AWDs.
