Default questions about stock warranty

i was wondering if anyone knows what the "bumper to bumper" covers from the stock warrranty...

if i get a new spring which isn't stock, will the warranty cover the shocks or other things related to the spring?
will they blame me becuz of my spring and not do anything for me?

same thing, if i want to get a new muffler/exhaust.... well mostly a new muffler.... will they cover it? say if something goes wrong with my up/down pipe or anything related to the exhaust system?

also... anyone tried to paint their stock 04' wrx rims gold?
cuz i am planning to do that... since rims are so expensive ~__~

More than likely, the shock would not be covered due to the aftermarket spring. It just depends on how strict the dealership you deal with is with respect to modifications...

If you change your spring nothing related to the spring will be covered. Your spring changes your suspension geometry therefore nothing related to it or anything that could be cause to break, have premature wear or be damaged due to it will be covered.

If you change your exhaust they do not have to cover anything to do with your exhaust system as it changes the "flow" of your exhaust gases....if they can prove that it cause any harm in the engine they will also not have to cover that.

Legally a dealership has to prove a causal relationship between an aftermarket part you have, and the warranty claim...HOWEVER, most dealerships will simply deny any claims that seem in the slightest bit related and some will deny claims that are not related at all.

You can claim your shocks anyways as it is a wear and tear item. Unless there is a defect or serious problems after a very short period of time that are clearly not wear and tear they may cover it, but how do they know if you've gone off-roading with your car or something that it was not intended for.

hm so tora, i am still a bit confused cuz i dun really know MUCH about cars...

i get ur point how springs won't affect the shocks....but what IF somethings happen to the shocks, they will find out the springs aren't stock.... so they will deny the coverage of the problem?

cuz my frd lowered his WRX and its new too... he said its ok..but i am not 100% sure
who/where should i call to the dealership to ask about this ? the sales who sold me the car? or the maintence department? will they just deny everything since they probably wont want my car modded at all..~__~
