Default I thought I was getting used to the idea of fatherhood..

...and then I get to see the little sucker moving around and hear the heart beat, and I get walloped all over again. Jeebus.

My wife kept asking me "Are you ready to be a father?"

I kept saying "No; how could anyone really be ready?"

PS The 1st few months are somewhat disappointing, then they get a lot more active and fun.

Congratulations! Have you checked out
http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregna.../blweek16.htm?

It's a baby-by-the-week site. I read it every day..even though it's by the week.
We're having twins!

True...I think the first 6 months are enjoyed more by the mother most of the time.

We're expecting a baby boy and we are in our 22nd week. I haven't never been this happy about anything else in my life.

Whew-Hoo! Congrats to you as well. It's funny how everything else becomes trivial when you see their profiles and see them moving. My babies are entering week 17 and I can't get enough ultrasounds.

well duh

I just mean, in the early stages here, getting comfortable with the whole concept. It's a big deal, especially since we weren't really planning on it
