Default Quick question about oil change

Do you guys know if any local auto parts stores (Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc.) carry the oil drain plug washers for the WRX? Or is this something I have to get from the dealership?

I'm gonna change my oil this weekend and I want to replace the washer as well.

Get a fumoto oil drain valve. Veeeery handy little device, and cheap too. Forget about ever buying washers and getting your wrenches oily.

I saw the oil drain thing at wal-mart along side the drain plug, but it was $15 I think.

I think they only had one size so I got it hoping it would fit and it did. Sounds like 13 cents is a better deal which you could probably get at autozone or o'reilly.

Direct, www.fumotovalve.com

The one with the nipple is not recommended for lowered vehicles.

That valve looks like a great idea, especially since I always do my own oil changes and end up making some kind of mess. I think I'm gonna order one.

I wonder if the washer still has to be replaced, I noticed in the pic that the washer was still on there.

There is some sort of organic/plastic washer that comes with it. No need for another one.

better yet, use the same washer for several oil changes. as long as you don't crank down on the bolt like a maniac, it's nothing to worry about. no runs no leaks no errors. cheers!
