Default small bubble on the tire, is it ok?

my friend's STI got a small bent lip on the stock BBS and the impact made a bubble with about 1" in diameter on the tire. If he replace the wheel to a good one can he still use that tire?

the tire probably has a seperation in it which means there is a little bit of air in between the layers of the sidewall which WILL lead to it blowing. it could be tomorrow or it could be a several thousand miles down the road but he will have a blow out.

i would change the tire

yup, bubble in sidewall = bad... it's already 1/2 the way there to a blowout. A new tire is definitely the way to go

thanks guys.. well the wheel has a small bent lip so that has to be replaced. The tires is the factory one that come with STI and only has about 3k miles on it.

Look in the classifieds and you should be able to pick up some used RE070's.

make sure that when you get a used tire it has close to the same amount of tread on it as your other 3. The tires need to be the same size
