Have a Nice Day? Help, I can't keep my car clean.

Yesterday I cleaned my car and had it looking great. Yet, today its covered in dirt. The problem is every time I drive past a large dirt parking lot, it calls to me. I just can't resist it. Anyone else have this problem?

1/2 mile from my house is a GREAT car wash called car spa. $315 a year, unlimited soft cloth car washes [that are usually $10 a pop]. includes hand towel drying, and i usually give the guys a few bucks to wash my floor mats once a wheel and scrub my tires down.

Try going to www.dbuilds.com and then hit the dirt-bath daily.

You could just leave your car dirty like I do... LOL. I'd just get it dirty again so forget it. At least this way I forget about all the scratches under that dirt.

I was just kidding, it wasn't actually about washing my car. Usually, I do just leave it dirty.

JC - just indulge a short story from an old one...

I was at an autocross and getting into the grid, my MY 98 was looking pretty darned filthy (we had been looking at homes - gotta love construction sites). An older man walked up to me and asked me about the car and rally in a thick german accent. I told him that I wanted to rally, and all will happen in good time and that the car really needed a bath, he said:

"Bah! I's rally car, supposed to be dirty!"

I think of him when the darned thing is just too filthy. Let the Passat and Miata owners worry about impeccable paint - I wanna' drive!

Hope this helps...

Thumbs up

I have that problem as well. It really does seem like it WANTS to go in the dirt. I was doing that this saturday in Wilkes Barre in PA by the new stadium. They have a huge dirt parking lot for the not so important people. I just love having the e-brake handle were it is, just like when I was a kid on the big wheel. WAY too much fun. I didn't even car about any scratches in the paint I had so much fun. I just need to find some nice dirt roads now...

If you want to keep you car clean, put it in a garage and take a cab!!!
This is a rally car. It looks good being dirty. A clean Impreza is well.... not an Impreza.

Construction sites rule! I found one that was about the size of 5 football fields side-to-side where they were going to put buisnesses. well the entire lot, minus the big hill, was perfectly flat and smooth. Oh yeah, the people driving by loved me kicking up that dust cloud (actually got people slowing down because they couldn't see the road that was a few hundred yards from where I was). Then I scaled that hill... ahhhhhh, reminds me of my old Bronco days.

I have to move near you guys, not to many dirt roads, and parking lots in North East Jersey, but every now and then my RS magically finds them. Its like people search all their lives to find there one true love, and Imprezas search all their lives for that one perfect dirt road. Now I find my self helping my RS find those roads

Oh what fun.

My car has found a good "dirt" road already. She really loves to play.

Hey guys(and gals) same problems here. I feel bad for getting it dirty, but then isn't that what I bought it for? fun? Oh well. There are alot of dirt roads here, but they are dwindling away fast so we need to have fun out here while we can. Anybody interested? BTW, does it hurt axles or rims at all to slide all over, especially on paved roads when it grips while I am trying to slide?

Yeah, there really isn't much in the way of dirt here in Jersey...At least where I am...There is a construction site near where I live, but I wouldn't dare go in it...It's just an accident waiting to happen...It's too small, anyways...
