Cool Subaru Legacy B4 RS and RSK

all I can say is oh my god... I picked up my wheels from mike sheilds and he gave me this brochure on the Legacy B4.

that car is the sweetest thing this side of an M3.. possibly sweeter because its AWD. I have never seen such a completely wonderful interior design and smooth almost elegant flowing lines of an exterior so well matched.

The car is for lack of a better word a work of art. 280ish HP sweet tranny.. and those wheels..

I have joined the official occult that love this car.. I am glad to have seen the light before its too late. It must be a wonderful feeling to mash the gas on that baby..

oh my

oh my

oh my

SCRAPPYDO... aka.. would drive a 4 door car after all!!!

Question

Where can I learn more about the Legacy B4. If I get any Sub, it better have as many doors as wheels driven.

Now if only the US got a copy of it. Hey what about a H6 RSK? Then it could be called the RSK B6! Of course we're not likely to get it since SOA is only interested in putting the H6 into the Outback. Maybe in a few years they will figure it out finally. The RSK is one hell of a nice car. I found a dealership a few months ago that let me test drive one. If I had the money to blow and I was looking at the BMW this car would make me rethink my decision. Very nice!

If only they would release those cars here...

Isn't the legacy b4 just about the price of the upgraded high end american legacy (with the crappy 2.5 engine)?

Well, it is about the same price, but there is no point in converting prices across borders (if there was, I would be spitting chips as my "crappy" 2.5 cost nearly $40,000).

If you want to be confused, the Porsche-tuned B4 Blitzen is available in NZ (well, five of them are) for about US$37.5k. This would be a bargain, until you remember that salaries and disposable income are about a hundred leagues below US salaries and disposable income, and there are no development costs associated with "federalising" this car for US roads.

The 2.5 boxermotor is quite a good one compared to other four-pots. It's crappy only if you compare it to turbocharged motors or other engines with more than four cylinders (and lots of those are crappy too). Road testers outside of Japan have mildly criticised the power delivery of the twin-turbo boxer in the B4 - because of this, it is not really any more useful than the single-turbo in the Impreza, despite the considerably higher peak-power figure.

I'm in agreement with N/A on the H6. If they bring the actual B4 over, then any Joe (or Jamie) Schmoe could buy one. I would much rather see a Legacy GT with the H6 in the US than an actual B4 Blitzen. One knowledgeable in Subies could then buy the necessary suspension bits to give it the equivalent (or even better) set-up as the B4. This would be one hell of a sleeper car in the twisties. For more power, I'm sure Shiv could come up with an H6 TEC-II kit.

The H6 IS coming to the Legacy GT. It's inevitable. It might be as soon as within a year or 2's time. However I sure hope its not on auto only though!

It was mildly critisized because of the power delivery which is alot smoother than the brute force of a single turbo found in the Imprezas. Therefore you don't notice the jerk to your seat feeling on the B4 RSK. If and when the H6 makes it on the Legacy GTs in Canada, I'd prolly buy it over a 220hp turbo Impreza. Assuming it has more power by then and not 212hp. 230hp would be nice.

Since I have an Impreza, I've never really looked into Legacy parts. Anybody know if the body parts and suspension bits are available in the US to convert a 2000 Legacy GT into a B4 look-a-like and handle-a-like car? Could always do an H6 swap later. I really could use a car a little more practical than my 2 door RS. Plus, if I ever did have to do any towing, I would think the H6 would be better suited for it than a turbo'd H4.

Cool

There is not really much different as far as the body goes between the B4 and the US Legacy wagon. The body codes are BH5 for the Japan-market wagon, and BH6 for the US-market wagon. This biggest differences are the hood-scoop and the rear bumper (which has a cut-out for a muffler in the BH5 version).

Then of course you open the hood and you see the *real* difference: 280PS twin-turbo, vs 165HP N/A... and of course the GT-B comes with a Bilstein-tuned suspension (hence the -B).

If you have a chance to see HyperRev (I think issue #24) there are *tons* of body-kits for the BH series, but there is not really that much that needs to be done, IMHO.

First thing on my list is getting a BH5 hood and grille... then I won't have that "hood-scoop envy" that I have built up lately...

Why are those cars so much more yummier than our cars here? Doesn't Subaru know that those cars are the ones that get our heart pumping eventhough it's a station wagon?

Unhappy

Do you have sex with people of your sex? Because if you don't then Subaru does not care what you think.
