funny.

Default 20w50?

So,

My girlfirends father has about 8 quarts of Synthetic 20w50 motor oil. I am running 10w30 Synthetic right now.

So, could I use this stuff? He's giving it to me free if it would work in my engine.

Thanks,

Tyler

don't even think about it, quickest way to destroying a good motor

note: these engines are built with too tight of tolerances to allow that kind of oil use

Right on, thanks Jeremy. Her dad said it was for "High performance engines." I didn't think that applies to me..... yet.

more like high performance engines built by crappy engine builders, it was meant for cars with loose bearings too get every HP out of them, it has no place in modern automotive engines

when I had the GTi, it was required that I run 20w50. if anything else was run instead, the car would run like poo and the lifters would make a HORRIBLE noise. made it sound like an old turbo diesel mercedes....yuck!

I run 20w50 in my RS, mainly because I drive the hell out of my car and it's hot down here, if I don't then I'll add an aditive to it (really thick goopy stuff)
