Post Team Suby kix a$$ in TX Div. one more time!!

Hi guys and gals,
I'm checking in from smoggy So Cal!!!
Missed the last SW Divisional this past weekend!
But just got off the phone with Chris F with the Suby results;

SW Div Champion G-Stock for 2000 is: Chris F in a 1998 RS

SW Div Champion STR for 2000 is: Travis Rouse
in his 1999? RS

SW Div Champion Street Mod for 2000 is: yours truely in my 1998 2.2 RS Turbo.

I have to thank Chris F for all his help and input, as well as the use of his car in one of the events, and his tires in one of the other events.
Huffines Subaru for the use of their 2000 model rims while waiting for my Smith's to arive.
Cobb Tuning for all the tuning "secrets" and "goodies" that makes my Suby the special car it is to me....

Thanks to all.

I hope to be back in Dallas for the rest of the texas region events, so that Team Suby can dominate there as well!!
Andre

I forgot to mention.... !!!This is NOT the OFFICIAL results. They should be posted sometime later this week!!!!!

I am gonna try to make the Waco event at the end of the month. This coming to CA sure is putting a crimp on my Autox'n. I'll have to fly back on the Friday nightbefore the event, Spend most of the night with the tranny transplant / traveling, and then Sat morning install of Springs and camber plates. then drive down to Wacky Waco for the race on Sunday morning.
Houston.... It depends. If I'm back in TX, I'd like to come down for another one. I had great fun at the divies... Plus I have a score to settle with a certain burgandy Mustang from Houston....

Andre

Sorry you couldn't make it Andre. Thanks for letting Chris bring the "Church of Speed". We had a blast! Unfortunately I didn't place high enough to get a trophy. I still did well. Third out of six in Street Tire. No way I was going to catch those two '99 Anniversary Edition Miatas with Michelin Pilot MXXX3s!!! My poor little RE92s have just about had it. They may last the rest of the year if I'm lucky. Time to start thinking about new tires!

Don't know if I'll be able to make it to the race this weekend. I'll keep you posted Tre'. Anybody else going to make it?

YEAH BABY! It was fun. That surface at A&M is really rough on tires though. I'm going to have to get my tires turned around on the rims after one more event.
Don't forget that Bill Gardiner won STS at this event. I don't know who won it for the season.
Every one can check out the times at www.spokes.org
I have to give a big thanks to Chris F, and Bohanan too. I sheared off one of my wheel lugs at the end of day one. So I had to drive around with four until Sunday morning when we could get it changed. Chris, Mr. Prepared, had all the stuff we needed, except for the impact gun, which we borrowed from some body else. Bohanan and I had the stud replaced in about 20 minutes, start to finish. These cars are actually pretty easy to work on. But the lesson of the weekend is; put anti-seize on your wheel studs.

Uh, yeah. He said, "Gee Travis your car must be making butt-loads of torque, you sheared off a lug."
Or maybe it was something else, it's all a little hazy. Too much sun I guess.

I think it's more like the natural high from being the Champ interfering with your brain waves!

Nah, it's probably from being first in a class of one!!! Must be tough to be the king!

If Gardner Won STS, I think he will be crowned CHAMP as well.....
WHOOOOOOO HOOOOO
That makes four championships in four classes!!!!! (Unofficially) MAN our cars are good. Coz I know it's not the drivers... Then again, it could be that we are all congregating the church of speed!!!
Please excuse all the typo's guys an gals, no spell check here

Damn, you guys rock! Thats a simply awesome display of the capactity of the Impreza to run in any class its owner wants to run it in.

So the big question is, are you all coming to Nationals? If so, register soon! The more people we get signed up the bigger impression it will have on the SOA people involved in arranging contingency and trackside support for all us Scooby maniac's who are shreding the tires off our Scooby's. Last year they had a tent, water and chairs. And there was a total of around 5 Subarus that ran in the competition. With the increased popularity of autocross among the owners here, we should have easily 2-3 times that many drivers at Nationals. SOA will take notice, believe me. And they wont be writing down VIN's either. They absolutly love that we race our cars, believe me.

Something similar is happening in the Midwest Division too with 2 Divisionals to go. I am leading G Stock, Fstrmnky is 2nd and I think ColinL is tied for 3rd in STS and will move up for sure after the next one.

Go Get em you mid west guys!

Unfortunately, Nationals is a whole week afair. VERY hard to justify taking off a week to go play. The old pocket book just can't stand it specially since I will be in Vegas for the SEMA show for a whole week as well!!!

Oh well, maybe next year!!

Well guys it looks like I'm going to the Nationals! 3 for 3 in the Divisionals and my boss got weak and is letting me take the week off to go race! This might be the only perk in my Job!! I can't wait to go and meet everybody! Subaru is even offering contingency money for the top finnishing Subaru's in class. I don't have any illusions about that though!

Andre, Nationals is really a two day event out of the week long affair for whatever class anyone drives. However, I think SM is not a Nationals class. I have preregistered for the pre-nationals event in Topeka the Sat and Sun before the Nationals, so I will be there for 5 days. Looking forward to seeing you there Chris.

SM is a class at nationals, but for the pre-registration they're listing them with an asterisk (*) in the EM entries.

Weird.

According to the guys in the know on the SM board, they (SCCA) are looking for 15 "real" entries before they will make SM a "real" class.
I understand that you will only compete in two days. However, if you include traveling time, plus the fact that it is in the middle of the week, you ARE looking at a "blown" week of business!!
I would give "you know what" to go to the NAT's but, priorities, priorities!!
