Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on these things. Should I go to the dealer and get the 'genuine Subaru' wheel locks, or are there better options from say lordco or some other shop.

You can probably get the Subaru ones cheap at the Dockstead Garage sale which should be coming up soon since it's spring.

The OEM locknuts are McGard locknuts. The only difference between the two is that the non-OEM McGard's will probably use a different size socket than 19mm. I wouldn't be surprised if you could buy McGard locknuts that have a 19mm lug end on it.

I got a set of spline drives from pdm last year.. they've got them for sure.. and i'm very happy with my set...
the key locks use a bigger than 19mm lug wrench though |

A lock is a lock. It's more a visual deterrent than anything. I've had 2 sets of rims stolen with locks on (Honda OEM and McGard premium).
That said, I just wasted $125 on black chrome lugs and locks last week. ![]() |

imo wheels locks dont prevent your rims from being stolen, its jus an obstiacle they have to go through befor stealing them, make it a little more harder..but its good to have
its not that hard breaking a wheel lock me and my buddy lost the key to his lock nuts and we broke the lock nuts off in less than 5 min Quote:
