Post Neone ever paint their rear lights red??

Hey,
I have a white rs with red accents, and instead of gettin the red and clear rear clusters I would like to have it all red. Does anyone know if this is possible? I heard that someone at the PA meet had them, and I was wondering if neone knew how to do it. Thanks
Keith

Dude, I'm sorry, I dont want the whole thing red...just the yellow part. I am going to leave the reverse light clear. I just want the surrounding lights to be red. How is that ricey?? Lots of cars come like that stock. I think the word paint got u all in an uproar hehe. i cant see spending all the cash on stupid lights. I can get springs for that much money.

Thumbs up

I would not consider all red tail lights rice, it's more of a european car (VW,BMW)thing, all clear would be ricy! A friend of mine with a VW used testors candy apple red spary paint, it matched perfectly, but i recomend taping off your reverse lights, and leaving them clear.

I did it on my old Outback, back in the day. All you need is good ole Candy Apple Red transparent model spray paint. This is semi-permanent, however. I imagine Scooby South's idea is better, as it sounds like you're just applying tape or something easily removable. Looks good, still functions well.

Edit: Oops should have read the above post. Anyway, I remember back in the day when I thought this was such a dope thing to do. Like "ooooh, look at me, I have red turn signals now."

Hey Keith, I did this to my 99 Rally Blue RS. I used Folia-tec's stuff (the same guys that make the brake caliper paint.) I purchased some of their red tint paint and some remover..incase it came out like crap
Over all, It looks good. I did use the entire can of paint to paint just the yellow part of the lights. I really had to put on alot of coats to get it to match the red above..and it is still very transparent when you have your direction on. If you have the money..definitely get the red/white ones. Looks much better IMHO. But if you are poor like me..red is cool too.
