Post Pricing for a new 2.5RS Coupe

Ok, my mom is looking into buying a 2001 Impreza 2.5RS Coupe. The only options she wants on it are auto tranny (I tried to talk her out of that) and keyless entry, nothing else. The best price I've gotten is $19,873, which I don't think is that good of a deal, what do you all think? If that is high, what do you think would be a fair price? Thanks guys!!!!

Love it for what it is....

I don't think that's a bad price, but there are plenty of people here who will say they paid less. In my area, a lot of dealerships are asking in excess of 21K, but a knowledgeable buyer can whittle them down. Tell your mom to do research and go in with both guns blazin'.

Quite a few of us got our cars for $20k out the door, so keep bargaining! The RS isn't as "rare" as it used to be.

Thats not a bad deal.. not great but not to bad, depends on the area really. I got my my00 for 20,100 with auto, alarm, and leather. Go to a few dealers in the area and try to get them to beat each others offer, when you have gotten as low as you think they will go buy it. Good luck!

Ole Buttsy is right, do plenty of research, I had to buy one in Seattle and ship it to FL and it only cost me 21K, car was only 18,989 I got it for invoice, over the phone deal with dealer while I was still in Florida, picked it up when I got to seattle drove it for like ten days, delivered to the shipper and now its' on the way down south.

Thanks guys, I think I'll be able to talk them down some more, since that was their first offer, 2.5RS's aren't selling that well here, I know of somethat have sat on the lot for a few months, so I don't think it'll be that difficult.

Love it for what it is....

Has anyone else noticed that there are some members on the board that can't remember what they paid for their car from week to week? It starts out at $200 over invoice, then $250 BELOW, then flat invoice, quite comical actually.

jealous deadbolt? yeah I got $250 under...I never said $200 over that's what you wanted...but i doubt anyone could get it for the same price so i don't mension it anymore...want me to scan the damn thing in for you? ...I'm sorry your price couldn't beat the dealer by my house...and I'm sorry that I've helped other people get it for invoice too ...don't try to say my story changes because I take sales away from you! This club isn't just yours to sell cars on damnit and to think... i actually recommended to like half a dozen people to go to YOU because you were such a great guy about the whole thing

Actually Faraz, I never said that it was my board, I do not attempt to sell everyone that I speak with on here a car. I have even helped others buy their cars at OTHER dealerships. I was merely pointing out how SOME people change their stories so often that they cannot seem to keep track of the last price that they had claimed to get.
BTW, you stated 2 different pricing structures just within this post(Before your editing.) There is no need to scan anything, I was just making a casual observation, and actually did not "direct" it towards anyone in particular, so I find it funny how you took such offense at my statement and felt the need for rebuttal.

Jeff,

The best advice we can give your mom is to wait 6 months, and buy a WRX. She will thank us.

By the way, how old is your mom? Under 40?

I have the best advise. Send Jerry (deadbolt) a PM. I've had some real "adventures" with other dealers. It only took me 800 miles from home to find what I wanted.
