Default hmm. . what should i do?

i'm basically deciding which route i should go with. . i have a vf30 turbo w/ no supporting mods and i'm very short on money right now. . .all i need is to get engine mangmt and install my injectors and pump that i already purchased. i don't know if i can afford to do all that right now. . i'm more of a buy a couple small things here and there, stuff like that. . .should i leave the turbo in (set at 12psi) and just go with the other things i want to do. . .or put the stocker back on until i get enough money for EM . . would it be safe in the long run to run a vf30 @ 12psi?

You would be safer by running wastegate boost. I tuned a car wtih a Utec and VF30 with all other parts being stock. I ran out of fuel around 12psi.... That stock pump and injectors gotta go.. I was able to do this safely because I had timing control and the Utec knock control.

10-12 psi would be the safe limit of what I would run and even then I would refrain from doing any real long WOT pulls in taller gears. Around town stuff will probably be fine for a while.

i ran wastegate boost. . .it flutters between 15psi all the way to 20psi. . so i had to get a mbc to keep the boost steady. . from what i've heard, running a vf30 @ 16psi is in the "safe" range, but i didn't know if it was safe in the long run. . .when you ran out of fuel at 12psi. . did you feel it in the car or did you need your utec to tell you that because the car runs strong all the way to redline when it was 15psi with no problems, but i don't know what the engine is doing internally

Wastegate boost is accomplished by running a line from the compressor nipple to the wastegate nipple.. If you had over 10 psi with a straight line something is wrong with your wastegate and you need to fix it..

When I tuned the car I used Delta dash to log data, The Utec logging to a text file, An autronic WB AF analyzer and a $110,000 Dyno dynamics dyno. Oh and 9 years experience with EFI.

You state your car has no problems at 15 psi... I wonder how in the world you even know that... What tools did you use to determin that you had no problems? The fact that it did not blow up? heh..

honestly, if you can, just pull the vf30 and wait. you will be too tempted to play with it if you leave it in.

by the way az. . there was absolutely no attitude involved in my response. . i was just simply asking if i can feel a difference in fuel if i'm running 12psi. . ."because the car runs strong all the way to redline when it was 15psi with no problems, but i don't know what the engine is doing internally" . . .maybe i should've said the car runs strong with no problems that i can hear or feel. . but i did mention i didn't know what the engine is doing internally. . so i really didn't appreciate that smart response. . but whatever. . no hard feelings
