Question Hood Scoop, Thoughts?

Well this is the hood scoop I put onto my 88 wagon to feed the IC. What do you think of it?

Not a very professional install as it was done in my driveway with a circular saw with chop blade and a 4" hand grinder.

here is the car w/o scoop to give you a better idea of the whole car's look.

Looks pretty cool. Looks like it came from the factory.

Since so many subes come with a scoop maybe SuBaRu should change their slogan to

Subaru: The Right To Be Scooped and Look Cool.

or

Subaru: The Only Import That Should Be Scooped Then Served To The Competition.

Yes --- it has been a long morning....

Thumbs down

I don't mind the hood scoop, per se, but you gotta get that wagon repainted!

The black would look so much better on a brighter color. Maybe rally blue?

That looks like a Ford hood scoop. I had the exact same design on my 68" Fairlane 500 Ragtop. It was a stock option. The rear has a place for lights that blinked with the turn signals.

Well it is a replica Ford 427SCJ scoop but does't have the lights. I think my current plans are when I get the $$ to do things like bodywork is to get a carbed wagon with out a sunroof or roof rack, to put the drivetrain in. This is because that body shell is beat to ****, thanks to the previous owner. Also I can not off road it as the 6cyl puts the oil pan WAY forward, and there is no room if the bumper supports colapse in a minor off road incedent. Last but not least the BIG mallory 60GPH pump is one of the lowest things on the car, so that makes it a no-no for that.

If I get a new shell, I can then build a 4cyl to pop in that one and return it to off road fun.

Oh and I was thinking of doing a Paint job like the Legacy GTB in GT1 with a yellow car and a nice blue stripe down the side.

Last there is only one company making rims large than the 15" pugs on there right now. At $1000 a set, they are not on my list. Plus traction isn't a issue with that car. Fullthrottle starts in the rain don;t even produce wheelspin. Er at least it did with the 4cyl.
