Default 99RS Intake Manifold/WRX Injectors

Anyone who has used a MY99 RS intake manifold and WRX injectors on a 2000-2001 RS, what is required to do this? I have searched quite a bit and find people who say that it can be done, but noone who has actually done it and will share what was involved. I know I could get through it, and figure it all out on my own, but I'd rather be able to learn from your experience. I am working on a pretty tight timetable and would like to avoid any potential pitfalls in the process.

Thank you for your help.

well, you would need to drill and tap the hole for the MAP sensor in the 99 manifold. Unless you are using a standalone ecu. I haven't done this swap, cause I have a MY99. But that's one thing to consider.

thats pretty much it. You remove the air bypass solenoid and lines, drill a hole for the map sensor, and install the injectors and rails like normal.

ps, I have a 99manifold and 550s for sale

just throw the bypass in the "useless junk" pile? the ECU won't be bitter if it's missing will it?

I'm sure this will all be much more obvious to me once I have the parts in front of me. Pictures would help immensley, I'll have to remember to take a bunch when I do it myself.

Do you remember what size holes and what thread to tap? I'd like to make sure i have good, sharp bits in the needed sizes and the correct tap before I begin.

I've herd some people say there are tricks to getting the WRX injectors to seat properly due to the difference in length...

Thanks for your help so far.

yah when I had my 01' I just tossed that in the parts bin. No adverse affects besides CEL (which you'll get anyways)
If you take off your map sensor you'll see the size hole. The spot is there on the 99, its just blank.

Shouldnt be anything weird for the injectors, just spacers under the rails to make it sit the right height. Everyone does this.
If you were to get my injectors and some rails they'd pop right in

no you will have to wire in the new clips, not difficult, two wires per injector, and they dont have a polarity either. So 10minutes tops.
