Default VDO gauge questions

It seems not to many people use VDO gauges in their subaru's, mainly Omori's and Defi's, but I could be wrong.
I was thinking of picking up the vision series egt and oil pressure gauges (already have boost). They match the instrument cluster in the STI, red on red. I heard the sender for the egt gauge doesn't work to well but besides that do they have any other problems? My boost gauge never had the chatter I have read about so I'm not too concerned about that issue.

get the fast responding thermocoupler(or the faster of the two) and it will be fine, mine works awesome! have VDO boost, EGT, and oil pressure and no problems whatsoever.

VDO is good enough for Porsche and Audi, it has to be ok for Subaru...people get the defi, blitz and others for the bling.

I've had VDO gauges in my car for about 1.5 yrs with no issues. I like them. The EGT probe is a bit slow to react, but it's tolerable.

Ignore the crooked gauges - the pic was taken before I aligned everything.

VDO makes a mounting cup that has an L-bracket. I hammered it flat, cut off a portion with a dremel and drilled a hole. It attaches to the back of the top steering column cover.

The cup is the perfect size for the column. Here's another picture that shows the cup better:

I used VDO's in my WRX and was very happy. When I had it tuned at TurboXS they commented on how accurate the boost gauge was.

I am selling my VDO vision boost, egt and clock gauges. You can order the fast acting probe, I did and it made a big difference. I sold my uppipe and left the probe in it so I only have the original (slower acting) temp probe.

The gauges looked great, very OEM and not cheesy.

LMK if you want to try to work something out with the gauges.

www.egauges.com had the best prices I could find. I have brought from them twice now and have been very happy with their service

Default Question.

Hey people, I want to know what the scoop is with the VDO oil pressure gauge # 350-109. What sending unit do you use with it?
Or is anyone here even using that gauge? Well then what are you using?

I converted my gauge panel in my 1983 Chevy C-10 to all VDO Vision series gauges and I love them! I prefer them over Autometer especially during night when they are illuminated. Very nice looking.

I purchased all my gauges from Summitracing.com

This probe is supposed to be pretty nice - Super fast response time.

Edit: I've since changed cars (2004 WRX wagon) and gauge mounting. I got the Autometer gauge bezel because my old setup would have blocked the low range of the speedometer in the 04.
