Post BE AFRAID

You saw it here first, and will not hear anymore (from me)till then ,but pay close attention to the upcoming pro-rally in maine.
The names Byron, Rimmer, Minnam, etc will fade into history. I believe there is a new monster on the horizon that will give many a reason to be really afraid...and the rest of us to rejoice. Go to the rally in maine, if you care for your subaru, july 28&29

WRC? No....

"The names Byron, Rimmer, Minnam, etc will fade into history." - ravent

This means a new vendor of parts are going to unveil themselves there. Kinda wacky if you ask me... revealing themselves at a rally. Unless they're some kinda rally-centered product-line company. *shrug*

WTF ?

There already is "the" most monster of Imprezas ever possible running in North American rallies.

TNT Racing, the McGeer's "new" "WRX" (I'll explain the quotes later), hand-assembled by none other than this board's STI_v3, is basically 100% pure Group A Prodrive WRC stuff. The bodyshell looks impreza, but look underneath and it is so gone and so far and so out of control everything triangulated titanium bolt-on to the chassis stuff.

I never realized the extent to which those cars (the WRC-level Group A cars) are so not stock. Nothing, not even subframes or nothing, is what you get even if you bought a "WRX RA".

So whatever, I dont care who or what or whatever, there is no better stuff available short of a late-model WRC car (as opposed to late-model Group A), which would cost in excess of 500k, in North America.

They ran the car 1st time competitvely 2 weeks ago at Bighorn and Rocky rallies in Alberta, and it puts out approx 400+ hp. John Buffum drove it (he also drove in this year's round of the Portugal WRC) and the thing sound so badass. It even has the "wide stance" track that you see on the real Prodrive WRC cars, and those pesky OZ wheels.

I'm not trying to detract from your post, but just that Byron, Rimmer, Minnam have always been faded when it comes to competition, as none of them do or did any of it (in terms of rally). Prodrive stuff always has and will, be the best for the Imp, and actually the world.

But on the other hand, any new tuner is cool. So I hope we get more stuff for the North American market !

It might as well be in a different country, the race is 100 miles away, and I live in New Hampshire - (the next state over.)

I expect a large NESIC crowd too - Kris

Hmmmm... I think the "MEGA" remark gave it away for me since I've bought parts for my previous car from them. We'll see soon enough.

In Maine?
There arent any PEOPLE in Maine! Heck, what a waste of tuning.

But he threw in Byron. He is not a reseller or tuner is he?

very strange. But forget Minnam my rear wing. Competition is healthy.
