Question yellow evo 8

Sighting of this car with B.C. plates, I thought we do not sell these in Canada.

The owner of Wolfe Mitsubishi bought one in the States and brought it up for display at the dealership in Langley. Were they custom plates that said 'EVO IIIV' ?

fools, all of you (except scoobysport ).

The EVO was brought into Canada by Wolfe's in Langley, then sold to the saleman there. It's a real EVO8, and a beautiful car at that.

I see it all the time in Langley, and have spent many a lazy Saturday gawking at it's fine lines.

some inside information

remember that the langely evo was in the papers for sale - well Mitsubishi got a hold of that info and demanded an explanation from the langely guys. of course this vehicle is not supposed to be on sale in canada as we all know. the langely mitsu told them they only sold it to the salesman and not to the public and it would not be sold.

Hey, people were asking for 50K USD when it first came out.... and Transport Canada don't have the EVO as a legal import - how did the Wolfe guys manage to insure it? That I wanted to know...

They have connections... they had to jump through a ton of hoops to get allowance to bring it into canada as only a display piece! It took them about 3 months to set up the transaction with a state side mitsu dealarship. I don't know all the specifics except that it was imported with the intention to show not sell...until they got permission that is and I have no idea how they got that.
I'm good friends with the old sales manager over there who worked there when they imported it last year... I still remember him phoning me up because "it's here". That's all he would tell me... I was there in about 2 minutes and he took me into the garage and showed it to me and let me look at it and play with all it's stuff. Most comfortable seats I have ever sat in.

There was a short time after it first came out that the EVO 8 wasn't on transport Canada's 'inadmissable' list.
Basically, if you got one before they updated the list it would just be considered a Lancer, which was ok. That loophole has been slammed shut now though.

i think that yellow evo8 is insured under normal lancer, so if anything at all happened to it - they would have to pay for it themselves
