Default Incredible feat of Richmond driving stupidity

This was after the rock-climbing meet - I was going south on Jacombs Rd, turning east)

So I was sitting at a red light at a fairly major intersection (two lanes N/S, 5 lanes total E/W (separated by a median), counting the left turn lane onto the northbound street. Directly across from me, in the curb lane, is a woman signalling to turn right. There being no traffic from the cross streets, she could have turned right on the red. But she didn't. The light turns green. If I assumed that the lady across from me was going to turn into the curb lane of the E/W cross-street, it would have been perfectly safe (and logical) to make my left turn into the center lane of the cross-street. Lucky that I didn't because the woman proceeds to make the WIDEST right turn I have ever seen - PAST the median, INTO the LEFT turn lane of the E/W cross-street. Many horns ensue, she pulls a U-turn and goes WEST!

I was coming back from Richmond on Oak Street one night and there was a line of perhaps 6 cars cars stopped in the right lane at a light and the left lane was clear. It was a fairly major intersection so there was also a left turn lane which was clear as well.

Anynow, I'm still quite a ways back coming down the left lane at a decent speed as the light changes. Well, the A4 at the back of the line decides it's gonna turn left... maybe? Basically, it starts to move very slowly from the right lane and more or less stops diagonally across the left lane for now apparent reason and then creeps forward a bit and is only about 70% in the left turn lane and 30% in my lane as I'm about to reach it.

Now I'll admit I've got a bit of an attitude and if someone is being a dumbass I like to give them a bit of a scare which means I tend not to slow down unless I absolutely must and I like to cut things close. It tends to give the gf a good scare too. Anyhow, I maintained my speed and swerved just enough at just the last moment as to not to clip the A4 while laying on the horn.

Oh, and apparently in Richmond it's legal to make right turns on red FROM THE LEFT TURN LANE as someone in a Mazda pickup was kind enough to demonstrate.

I think those drivers must have gotten one of those expensive $2000 special licences.

hey, if you had to pay $2000 for your driver licence, you would feel like you deserve to drive how ever you want, too

Ahhh you get it anywhere, it's just the density of some 'spots' that gives them bad names.. Well that and the 2,500 improperly liscenced drivers roaming around the city with no idea what the road signs say.

I witnessed a hit and run! And it wasn't a asian person! It was some east indian lady! Too bad she didn't hit my car... damnit! So close!

I was waiting to turn left and the light turns yellow. I see the lady slowing down so i proceed. When i turn, she guns it and hits the guy behind me. I pull over to make sure the guy behind me is ok and to give him info for witness and the lady just takes off after the accident. She didn't even pull over! None of use got her licence plate, but luckily some other guy who saw the accident pulled up a couple minutes later and gave us her plates! Woohoo! Stupid lady!

If she had pulled over, most of the blame would've been on the guy who was turning left, but since she decided to run like a b itch, she gets to face criminal charges! AHAHAHAAAA

BUSTED! Props to the dude who grapped the plates of the hit-and-run driver! With two witnesses who can positively identify her, she's SOL!!!
