Post Fuel Filter

Does anyone know how frequently or if ever the fuel filter should be replaced? Or where it is on the car? if it even exists?

Mine was recently replaced as part of the 30,000 mi. maintenence.

It's mounted to the drivers side strut tower in the engine compartment. It is a black canister with two hose inlets on the top.

i got mine from pep-boys for $20..i just changed it yeasterday at 30,000 mile, not bad for a 98'. It took 5 minettes
