yes i just read about it in the compact car mag.

i searched this forum to see if anyone has tried it yet.

apparently, it's japan only.

from the review, the muffler is super quiet crusing around town and loud when under the pedal.

now, THAT is what i am looking for!!

mark

p.s. found this on the japanese website.

here's a diagram on how it works, mechanically varying the piston to regulate noise and air flow

and this is the picture of the muffler. made of full SUS304

actually most Japan companies have things similar to this design already. its pretty complex to setup. there r sensors and motors to turn the valve.

it is rather a newer design even in japan, maybe the last 6 months, but considering how the compact car craze is going in north america, this might make it over. oh and this is suppose to allow for over 600 hp or something. In option i saw it mated to a GTR

the motorized one is currently being developed by Blitz (i think), but the Apex one (shown above) is spring loaded.

Sounds like a good idea, but I like things cut and dry. The more moving parts you have, the better the chance is of something wearing down or breaking.

yeah these r great ... like my dream of a real-time adjustable rear spoiler - hmm. not the raising up when u go fast stuff, constantly monitoring the airspeed and adjusting itself in realtime. oh sorry thats a jet fighter but it could happen

anyway i am sure u can order one from japan, the only problem is, it wont fit. due to different lengths and other things, a lot of JDM stuff just wont fit correctly, like many CAI due to driver positioning and stuff. i am sure u could always get someone that knows what they r doing to wield it on to something, only problem is u need someone that can read enough japanese to figure out how all the electronics work
