I'm in Japan right now on a business trip and stopped by the local Subaru dealer. I really didn't care for the new Impreza but after seeing one in person it's not all that bad.

Ok, that does it. I think I'm starting to crack up after all the years of lusting after unobtainable cars. If SOA doesn't bring the new STi, I won't buy a new impreza at all...I'm going to pick up a pre-97 Impreza L and build my own STi.

Okay, I want a wagon WRX for sure. Where do I sign, who do I pay? I can then add STi Parts to it.

Manual windows cause that's the Type RA, the rally-ready version. No sunroof because I don't think they ever had sunroofs in Japan.

I highly doubt brucelee. Cus you have to realise that you can't just bolt on a different tranny and hope to get the faster. You have think about whether if your EJ25 is tuned for a 6 spd or not.

KC do you think the td04 turbo is interchangeable with a td05h turbo(ie. simple bolt on)?
I hope it is, slap on a big 16g and you get gobs of power ![]() [This message has been edited by shabby (edited October 24, 2000).] |

It's growing on me. I don't know what it is, but I'm starting to like the car. I'm going to tell my salesperson to call me when he gets prices and specs. Hopefully by then I will have won the millenium lottery in NY and be 90 million dollars richer.

![]() I tried to like it. Those ridges along the hood accenting the round headlights are what ruins it for me. (they belong on a Porsche) [This message has been edited by Reflex-Arc (edited October 24, 2000).] |

It may be, but also may require an adapter plate.
I know one popular combination is the TD03-04 hybrid which gives decent high end pulling power without much of a lag time. Now for a TD05H to bolt up to the TD04L mounting holes remains to be seen (but will be seen in the 1st week of owning the car, I can guarntee that. )I'll also see what other turbos can be mounted with little or no problem. (Frank, Frank-II, T-25, T-28, Small 16g, Large 16G, 20G, etc..) I have a friend that works at a fabrication shop that could also make the adapter plates...so we'll see. ![]() --KC webmastuh http://neweng.dsm.org [This message has been edited by KC (edited October 24, 2000).] |
