Default ok guys, help me put my stock turbo heatshield back on! (after dp install)

ok i understand the part how you have to cut half of the heat shield off to make it fit an aftermarket dP like the HKS i have. i read the scoobymods tutorial but it doesn't tell you much about the install part. i just don't know how to bolt it back on. the heat shield has like 3 holes but i don't know where it goes. also, in the scoobymods tutorial, it said something about the mounting bracket? i don't think it's still bolted on to the turbo anymore so i do i go about doing that? there are three visible bolts when you look down at the turbo/dp from the hood. is it any of those three? on a side note, i would post a pic but i don't have the option to post pics from my hard drive. anyone know how i could do that?

you could have unbolted the bracket but its unlikely you did. You should have two bolts on the right side of the shield and one on the left when you put it back on. THe bolts are more like screws then bolts and they are 10mm I think. The little hand on the shield should be pointed towards the firewall or at least Im pretty sure it should be.

Hope this was of some help anyway.

I just finished trimming a heatshield for a guy I'm installing a new Stromung DP for. Gotta wait 'till tomorrow to finish it...I don't think the neighbors would like the noise of the grinder at 0100

ASpec818...you can upload your pics to: http://www.photobucket.com/

I got that site from another board member...sorry, I don't remember who it was to credit and thank.....Quick and easy to register and use.

Also see: http://www.subaruparts.com/diag/?mod...category=441-1

This will give you an idea of what you are dealing with.
You will have to have the bracket 44121A which is attached to the top of the turbo by the two bolts, to attach the heatshield after you cut it.

With my PDE DP I got away with just slotting some of the bolt holes and I was able to get the shield on without cutting it up.

Of course not all DPs are the same I'm not sure my plan would work with something like the Invidia DP

I have a complete heat sheild with bracket off a car let me know if you need pics taken & posted

OK you see your TOP 2 bolts?
There is supposed to be a mounting bracket held with those 2 bolts.

Your DP doesn't look very wide. I think you could get your shield on with no cutting.

PDE DP on left stock on right
