Post Visited Watkins Glen this weekend

Just wanted to pass my experience at Watkins Glen this past weekend....

IF you haven't been there, GO. Beautiful scenery and great places to eat.

If you EVER get a chance to drive the track. DO IT!! They had some local club there all weekend, so I couldn't get in, but I did sit and watch for a while. Saw a LOT of different machinery, including ONE RS. Some of the standouts....

A whole slew of those little "Legends" cars were TEARING around the place, a few REALLY loud RX-7's, a Lexus SC400, a Ford Festiva (yes, a Festiva!), some Can-Am looking cars, some Honda's, Some Vettes, a REALLY fast 300ZX, and assorted others. It made we want to get on the track SOOOOO bad. I'm already looking into events in the Spring!

It would've been even prettier if you had gone when the leaves peaked... now they're starting to turn brownish & fall off.

I was there the first weekend of this month with the BMW CCA. The track is awesome but a bit scary due to the lack of runoff. I didn't get to drive (no spots left) but my friend took me out in his RX7, we hit 150mph leading up to the bus stop heh heh. Talk about an adrenalin ruch! Great area too, but the nudie bar was a bit of a hike

Hey, I was on the track there last fall. Too bad it was raining that day so the last Time Trials was canceled.

I had the lead in the turns but the ITR burned me in the straights...he hit 140mph.

Check out EMRA Racing for schedules.

Yeah...it was little past peak, but we DID get some really good color in certain areas. It was weird. There'd be hardly ANY leaves on the trees, and then you go 50 miles and it's FULL of color. Oh well...I KNOW I enjoyed it! Have you ever heard of EMRA? I think that was the club that was at the track.
