Okay from page one the V7 STI intercooler is 15% larger volumetrically - how does it compare physically in size to the USDM STI intercooler. I read the USDM intercooler is smaller. I ask because I have the V7 STI hood scoop and splitter. Waiting to install, but want to know if I need to but a V7 intercooler from Japan or if a USDM STI intercooler will fit correctly with the V7 splitter.

V7 splitter won't work with USDM intercooler, you must match components.

I understand that you won't see the full potential of a tmic without engine management. But is it bad for the car In any way ?

Are any STi TMICs drop-in replacements for the '09+ WRX?

I think the advise for 08+ owners should be revised in light of end tank issues at or slightly over stock boost levels and the pathetic cooling capacity as compared to previous versions....

From my experience as well as several others with the newer wrx's I think a tmic should be part of any plans past stg1...

Is there an aftermarket TMIC that is about the size of the stock one? (2002 WRX)

The old Hyperflow core built and sold by M2 and TXS (old version) was a thicker intercooler with the same length/width dimensions at the stock TMIC. Both have been out of production for a long time.

The 02 has mounting points to fit the larger STI size TMIC so there's no reason to limit yourself to something that will be very hard to find.

Does anyone know if the grimmspeed splitter will work with a turboxs tmic on a bugeye?

Or any other splitter that fits?

Grimmspeed gave the 'we can only confirm it fits our tmic' and turboxs claims 'you don't need a splitter' but I don't see how running without one would work well.

I'm not running anything other than stock, with the rubber "shielding" removed on my scoop assembly dealy, seemed to work just fine with my TurboXS top mount.

Anyone have any experience with the cxracing tmic off ebay? seems to be one of the better 'brands'. And also, what splitter should I use, I'm guessing my stock WRX splitter won't work with it or be as optimal as an STi splitter? or will it need some modification to fit?
