Default LG VX6000 Camera Phone, any good? - OR - Good Verizon Phones?

So i'm changing my plan, and i can get this phone for free. I've been wanting a camera-phone, is this one any good? Doesn't much matter i guess since it's the only camera-phone available in my area on Verizon. If it's really crappy though for normal phone functions, i'll just get a non-camera phone that works better.

Anybody have any input on this?

I've had it for many months now. I love the phone, though the camera could stand to be better...

I am a big fan of LG phones and their interfaces. The phone is damn tough too. It's been dropped a couple times by accident and held up VERY well...

If you can get it for free go for it!

I got an LG from verizon and couldn't be happier! It is the toughest phone I have had. This thing has taken several beatings and held up the entire time!

I've had real good luck with my samsungs so far, i'm tempted to just stick with what i know works. I've got a digicam anyway, but the idea of being to take pics anytime (since i've ALWAYS got my phone with me) is nice.

New models will be coming out during the summer? Maybe i'll just wait till then to upgrade. There's no urgent reason for me to do it right now.

I want the vx6000... but I don't wanna pay $99 for it like it is everywhere. I want it for free or $50 is the max I'd pay.

That'll do. Most important to me is that the phone part works good. Good reception, good features, good battery life, small. Photo functionality is secondary.

Thats what i've got right now. I'm actually very satisfied with it. The only issue i have with it is that it will sometimes go back to the home screen while i'm in some menu or another, and that sometimes it says invalid number when i hit send on a name in my phonebook. Then i do it over again and it works.

I've looked up a little more about the LG and it sounds pretty good, the only thing i don't like is that it doesn't support analog mode for when i'm out in the boonies (when you need your cell phone the most!) and it has a large base charger.

I have the non-camera LG with Verizon. Love it. The only thing it didn't stand up to was being run over by my truck. Oops. They gave me a new one though, no questions asked. Verizon and LG own.

matt
-you shoulda gotten the answer through that

actually, I haven't heard much...there is a motorola camera phone coming out, but, its a motorola, so, there goes that theory....other than that, nothin much that I've seen coming out anytime soon.....you do know if you complain enough about the phone being pure crap, a manager will usually exchange the phone.....with a price difference, if any

There will always be something new coming out. There is no set "season" when VZW replaces all of their models at once. Models from different manufacturers are released throughout the year once they complete network trials and quality testing (I love my job ).

Even aside from the camera functions, the VX6000 is one of the best performing phones ever offered from Verizon. (good battery, intuitive interface, great reception, no software glitches).

I actually think the camera on the VX6000 is one of the highest quality cameras available in a phone. I don't know of many other models than have features such a "low-light mode". The VX6000 will take better pictures than my Canon Powershot camera in low lighting!

sounds good, the non-analog compatibility is the only thing that bothers me.

I have been nothing but unhappy with the Motorola's I've owned in the past. Far cheaper than my LG phones, and broke VERY easily.

As far as the digital only thing goes, unless you travel to the sticks a lot, I wouldn't worry about. Verizon's network is massive, and only in the uppermost parts of New Hampshire and Maine have I really had ZERO service...

Yeah, I hear that. It really depends on where you live though. In all honesty, analog networks are not going to be around much longer. Most wireless carriers are removing analog service from their towers in order to make room for more digital subscriber capacity. In my network region, there are no remaining "analog only" towers on the Verizon network. However, if you travel a lot and roam on other networks, you might have some trouble in remote areas.
