Question [Q] 4 people with stock fuel door release

Can someone tell me where the little spring tab goes to pop the flap open? I have the kit to retrofit the remote release to my RS but for the life of me I can't figure out where the little spring thing goes? Is it somewhere by the hinge? Any help would be appreciated. Pics would be sweet, but I'd settle for a good description.

Thanks,

Peaty

Unhappy

Can anyone help? I took off the fuel door and tried my darndest to figure out how to hook in the spring. No luck. I've had a few people ask me if I figured it out yet because they are in the same situation.

TIA,

Peaty the Puzzled

I don't have the kit but seen it. The door is different! It's plastic and has a space for the little spring just above the hole for the lock.

I tried what you are doing and finished selling my coupe with almost the whole kit minus the door and spring.

Now waiting to get another *complete* kit for my sedan.

hope this helped!

I was afraid I'd need the flat door. Bummer. Just so I'm sure I understand, the spring is attached to the door and not in the plastic that holds the filler neck in place.

Well, I guess I should try to get the flat door then. I think Sugar may have those too but not sure.

Is it a spring shaped like this? \o/

With like 2 extensions off a center coil? If so it needs to go around the hinge and press against the body side by the hinge with one side and the inside of the door with the other. I haven't seen it, but I figure it's worth a guess.
