Post New Integra 2002

New name (to be determine), new look, but no specs yet. I stumbled across some pix of the new 2002 Acura integra. I use to be a Integra fan but after driving one, I felt sick:

bottom one looks pretty sweet. but i thought 2/3 door sport coupes are on the way out (market is shrinking)?

speaking of Acura, their MDX SUV kicked ass over other SUVs in this snow test-

The 2nd one down looks alot like the Toyota Celica GT-S. I could almost see the little hood scoop on the front of it. I thought there was a mix up with the pics. Hrmmm.

All the red one needs is awd and I am there ... But I digress it probably will look more like the B&W photos ... boring and no awd.

I'll stick with a suby...

That looks like a Neon! No wait, that looks like a Porsche! No, wait ... that looks like a Camry! Oh, no, wait -- I think it looks like a Sebring! How could Acura make anything so fugly?! Why does it have a spoiler like that?? NO HID?! What was Acura thinking?!??! Whoever buys that thing is an idiot. NOBODY is going to buy it. Honda couldn't PAY me to drive that car.

OK, now it's all been said, so this thread doesn't have to get cluttered with a bunch of inane posts.

The only think that bothers me about the new "Integra" (whatever they call it), is that there is supposedly no R; the only available model being something closer to a Type-S (more comfort/convenience stuff, less race inspired).

Greg.

You guys will laugh.. I heard the new name for the Integra will be 'RS'.

I am looking forward to the introduction. I guess we can expect to see the double wishbone suspension disappear unless they are no longer basing the RS, (oops, Integra) on the Civic.

It looks like it could have a bit of a CRX profile.

the front ends on the red/slate ones remind me of the firebird. these pictures are all pretty old though, and you remember how it was with the old 02 imp photos. besides, i don't think th 02 integra is coming out until its actually MY02

Will DOHC VTEC decals be generously distributed throughout the car? 25 Hp gain, easily.

Hold your horses, guys, these are sketches that came out last year. They are well outdated. The top spy shot is of the Civic Coupe: look at the headlights, grille, and profile.

Honda (well, Acura) will be unveiling three prototypes at the Detroit Auto Show for the next Integra, which incidentally will not be called the Integra in America.

If it indeed WERE the Civic, it would have 4 lug not 5 lug wheels. Besides, the dlo character line wraps upwards in the photo of the black car. the black photo is the running vehicle, the rest are interpretations that don't quite hit the mark. Check the bodyside details and reflections and find the sketch that you think best resembles the black car and just squint!

Tapioca puddin' on wheels... or is that rice pudding? Just another Acura indistinguishable from other Hondas and Toyotas.
