Default ? About turn signal bulbs

I know this is a silly question, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.

I have an '02 rex and I recently did the "headlight mod" (took apart the headlight, spray painted the chrome piece semi-gloss black)

I also removed those plastic orange turn signal bulb covers because I think they are fugly. I purchased some 12v 21w amber colored turn signal bulbs from Autozone but one of them has already gone out! Would this have anything to do with me removing the plastic covers?

I was planning on ordering the Philips Silver Vision turn/indicator bulbs, and I don't want them to go out also.

Nope, I removed mine and they are fine. One of them did break on me, but I fixed it and I haven't had any problems since.

I'm hoping it was just a defective bulb, they were cheap.

Could I find out the cause by looking at the bulb? I looked at it this morning and it appears to have a film on it. I haven't taken it out to see if the filament is broken.

Its a defect. don't be worried. Suggestion...replace the bulb with an LED front turn signal. Much brighter and much MUCH nicer. It is what i am going to do in about 2 weeks, when i finally have the time.

Here is the link...http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR

Its the 1156-A-19 ( i would get the wide angle)

like i said...just a suggestion
