Post Snow tires? Which ones?

Which is the best snow tire? I know that thinner tires are best but I must have them in 205-50-16 because of the clearance on my Prodrive suspension.
I'll be driving on some snow and ice but also dry pavement.(SE Ohio) I don't want a set that will completely burn thru. (avg.driving)
Hakka's Q? NRW?
Blizzack?
Alpin?
I got previous performance tires from tirerack but am open to hear other dealers.
Thanks for your help
Dave

if you are driving (as you mention) on mixed surfaces: i keep hearing great things about the Michelin Pilot Alpin. it's said to be a very versatile tire, best of both worlds kind of thing. i have the Michelin Arctic Alpin and it's a complete dog in dry weather. i would avoid single purpose tires and look for a good winter all rounder.

Pirelli's!!! I'll look at my tires when I get home and see which ones (model) I have... I'll edit my post but I know they are $68 on Tirerack with the 15" steelies combo.

I had the Pilot Alpins on my 96' OBS. They were great in snow and slush, not to bad on dry payment either. As a matter of fact I think I got more miles out of them then my RE92s.

I've got a set of Pirelli Winter Ice Direzoniale Plus. The sidewall is pretty stout (moreso than the RE92) but unsurprisingly the tread squirms quite a lot. Steering feel is light and there is a bit of road noise (less than a Yokohama A520 summer tire though).

Snow & ice performance? Dunno, haven't gotten any yet.
