Default When will we know MSRP of MY02 WRX?

Like everybody else, I am anxious to get as much information about the MY02 WRX. However, we already know most of the "performance" numbers, and we even know which colors will be available.

I KNOW I want this car - the deciding factor will probably be price. Unfortunately, according to those "in the know", MSRP will be upwards of $26k. So my question is how long will it be until the MSRP is released?

(SoA, if you are reading this - PLEASE keep the price reasonable! Remember, this could be the start of something big in the U.S. for Subaru.)

It will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It is reasonable to assume that since it's a normal production model pricing would be announced then as well.

Athe the long-lead press conference in Savannah last week, they inferred dealers would have an idea late in January, and they'd go public with pricing at the Chicago show (where the ERX wagon, Outback Sport, 2.5 RS and 2.5 TS versions would be shown

Hi 2953 - welcome to the board!

What is a "long lead press conference"? And who was the representative that gave you this information? It is very interesting . . .

Long lead is for the press. The magazines need a few months of lead time to get anything into publication.

So they drive the cars, take the pictures, etc in November, and go back, write the stories, do the page layouts, photochop the pictures, and it lands on the newsstands in early January, just after the official introduction of the car

Just wait until ones either sitting in the dealers or until SOA finally pulls their head out their collective asses and gives us some real info. Believe nobody until then
