Default ac removal?

Can i just take the pump thingy out and remove the belt? or do hoses have to be sealed up too?

I'm sure there are other posts for this but "ac" is under the 3 letter search minimum.

Yes, you can just remove the air condition compressor and not the lines. It has its own belt and you can remove the tensioner too. The lines will be under pressure with refrigerent so watch out and depending on how old the car is, might be really expensive to refill.
