Default Video editing and camera stuff

I need some camera help. I have a decent 3.1mp Kodak that does video. Can I add music? If so, is there some share ware or a site that show me how.The files are quicktime.

Convert them to avi or mpeg using something like Bink Video tools, and then you can use Windows Movie Maker (came with XP) to layer music on top.

Question: I've got a Hi8 camcorder. Is there an easy way to shoot footage with it and digitize it, or should I just pony up the dough and buy a dig. camcorder?

You can do it, but you'll need some equipment. Just get a mini-dv and be happy.

Take a look at the Canons. You won't get the night vision that the Sonys will offer, but overall I think they're better cameras.
