Considering the 2005's will be out in a month I think I'd spend the extra $2,000 and get a new one. I guess with the extra taxes and stuff it would end up being more than $2,000 though.
Unless it's some sort of collector car I wouldn't even consider buying a used one unless it's at least 10% off the new MRSP. That's just me though.
Used ones in the states are selling for ~$28,000USD = $38,000CDN. I think the import duty is 6% on used cars.

but from i read in the other forums is that brand new sti's are sitting in US dealer lots, some advertised at less than retail and are still not selling, whereas here it's the complete opposite?

but u are right about the 2005 models... damn, has it been a year already?

the only thing i know that has changed on the 2005 sti model, is a revised dccd setup with the incorporation of some sort of yaw-rate sensor. not sure if the 3 new colors available to the impreza line overall includes the sti though

I agree with Kevin. If you're serious about your car I'm sure you'd be wondering how hard those 1,800 km's were. Very fast, lot's of fun, but the car has only been broken in!

2005 is supposed to include wider fenders, 8" rims, updated underbody aerodynamics, new grey color, upgrade security and stereo, 3 spoke steering wheel, guage console... and hellical front diff.

Man if it's the same grey colour as the one I'm thinking. The one prodrive uses on their car with the RB5 wing...I LIKE.
