Exclamation horrible electric hum! HELP!!!!

ok, so i've got a 93 impreza hatchback, and not too long ago my rear windshield wiper motor crapped out. i'm totally broke, so i figured "eh, no biggie" and just never turned it on. about a week ago, i started hearing this horrible humming noise coming from the rear hatch and pinpointed the location at the base of the wiper assembly. i've been trying to find the fuse for the rear wiper, but i seem to have lost my owner's manual. anyone got any advice (besides spending $200+ on a motor the size of my fist)?

Take off the trim to get to the motor and disconnect the connector.

I'll 2nd that, or get a motor cheap from a salvage yard...

3 minutes is probably not enough time to wait for a reply.
Sounds like you have a short in your windshield wiper motor circuit. Since I'm guessing you don't have any experience with a multimeter, I would suggest finding a local enthusiast who could help out (try your regional forum) or take it to a mechanic/shop that handles electrical work.
