Default C&C Carworx Rear Step Plate Review

Welp here's my first review for the car.

The inevitable happened and I scuffed my bumper moving something in/out of the hatch. I wanted something to protect my bumper but wasn't interested in the clear film or the overpriced XV bumper applique. A quick google search and cross-reference here on NASIOC led me to a C&C Car Worx step plate cover. The big draw to me was the free shipping, essentially making it half the cost of an XV unit.

The damage that I wouldn't let happen again!

Ordered over the weekend and arrived before the end of the following week.

Here's everything that came with the kit: applique, alcohol wipes, instructions.

Used some painters tape to block everything off. Notice the alignment mark printed on the applique.

All done! After applying it I noticed I didn't get the gap quite even on each side but I'll live.

Looks pretty OEM to me.

Overall I'd give this kit a 8.5 out of 10. I needed to trim a few loose pieces off the edges but other than that it was good to go out of the box.

Fitment was pretty close but the applique still had a slightly deeper curve than my bumper no matter how I positioned it.

Would I recommend it? Yes as long as you get it with free shipping. Normal shipping cost is roughly $15 which would make it about the same price as the OEM XV version.

If anyone has any questions feel free to post 'em up or PM me!

Interesting! May have to look into this. Only questioned whether I was going to scratch my bumper once so far picking up a free workbench that I had to break down to make fit.

Looking forward to the review.

their stuff is good quality. I have the window visors on my 14 legacy. they fit perfect and are 1/2 the price of the Subaru ones.

any Canadian drivers out there have a local/cheaper alternative to getting something like this? With this shipped up here, its gonna run close to $100.

Thanks for the pictures and review! Will certainly have to look into this.

Maybe a black friday deal from subaru parts warehouse would be good enough for the XV version. It does fit Impreza?

The XV version fits but from what I've heard there's a slight gap or something but noticeable unless you know where to look.

I installed the Carworx bumper protector on my 2012 Impreza a few months ago. Very pleased.

Just wanted to resurrect this thread to say that the inevitable happened. My OEM "clear bumper protector" was tore up a little and the paint scratched just a hair today when loading a desk into the back end. Should have used the towel length-wise and not width-wise. Too late!

Ill be making this purchase here very soon to cover up the small spot and ensure nothing happens like this in the future.

Thanks again to those who attest to its quality, Im sold!
