Default need witnesses to an accident today

Hey all,

Approximately at 5;30pm.

Today coming home from SE Marine Drive going onto Arthur Lang bridge. I was smoked by one of those Truck Vans. It was a white budget truck being used by purolator.

Anyway.. I was in inside part of the merge lane when the two lanes ended...and I had already let a yellow s2000 in front of me earlier.. the truck was behind me on the right side.. then he accelerated beside me.. and tried to force his way in.. so I was forced to make my car go over closer to the side.. he continued to try to force his way in rather than merge in behind me.. even though the merge was over..

So then he forced his way in more.. sped up .. and the back driver side of his truck smoked the passenger side of my car ...

So I honked at him.. once while going on the bridge to indicate that I wanted to pull over.. Obviously I was pissed... I kept signaling my car for him to pull over.. All he did was smile and laugh..

As a result, I got in front of him and indicated for him to pull over. He then began to weave around behind me in an attempt to evade me. When we finally came to a stop we were in a left turn lane.

At which point he cut across the grass median across 2 lanes on the opposite side of the road he then sped down the road.. almost hitting a pedestrian.. and proceeded to attempt to evade me by going into a restricted cargo loading area for purolator.

I followed him in at which point his cargo buddies came out and started to wonder what was going on. I said whats your problem, He said its a merge.. I said I know that ..

I then was requested to move my car out of the area, and that we were to sort things outside the cargo area.

So I waited for approximately 10 minutes when he came out, refused to give me his information and told me he was leaving.

Anyone see this?

TIA

Easy....

File a complaint with Purolator with the van number ASAP!
Bombard them with Email, and Phone Calls indicating the seriousness of the matter and demand an acknowledgement of the incident.

Tell them you'll be filling a Hit and Run Case with ICBC, so ask them to take some pictures and be ready for a Claim.

make a hit and run claim with ICBC

Then goto Richmond RCMP and file a "fail to remain at the scene of an accident" and "hit and run" and get an incident number for ICBC.

then go take some prozac and wait .......

good luck

PS. mouthing "thank god my father is a lawyer, and my brother works for Global News" will speed things up!

I already made the claim with ICBC. Seeing them friday heh.

Gonna call the RCMP/ visit them personally tmr.

and I got the vans plate number.. but not the van number.. It was being run by purolator but it was a budget rented truck I think.

vovo- Yea I wanted to, but stupid me forgot my cellphone at home in the morning.

O and its not april fools yet.. I am pretty pissed.. ok.. thats an understatement hehe..

First of all, get your facts written down quickly. Write it down "unbiased" as you can without indicating any emotions or anything - just the facts. Include time of day, weather, traffic conditions, etc.

From your description, I take it that you were in the "slow" lane, and the S2k and this cube van were attempting to "merge" into traffic. If this is the case, then the people who are merging have to yield to the flow of traffic.

Another thing, since in your description it was the van that hit you, and you tried to stop, pull over and exchange information but he ran like a little kid who poo'd in his pants, I'd consider that hit-and-run. Not good.

Good luck and I hope he gets his oilcover's grapped to his parnet's birdpool.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

And don't say he "smoked" you. If your car was still driveable he did not smoke you, he more likely scraped the side of your car. If you can describe it as though you were an unrelated party watching it all happen things will go much more smoothly. And don't say you "already let another car in" because that makes it look like you were holding your ground trying to not let this guy in where he had no other choice of where to go. And why didn't you just hit your brakes and let him in? If he had no where else to go (his lane was ending) then you had to know he would either cut in or hit the wall no?

The lane was pretty narrow already by the time he decided to force his way in. He was already trying to cut his way in, and I was already stopped and moved over as far left as I could. Then he accelerated in front of me and scraped my passenger side of my car ripping of the don docksteader 'mudguard' thing on the fender flare, crushing my side view mirror in and made a huge streaking scratch across my left front and across my two passenger side doors.

Writing down your version of the facts immediately is always a very useful thing to do.

Something that wasn't suggested is to also call Budget, if that is indeed their truck and you've got the plate numbers.
If you know where the guy works, see if you can spot the truck there.

What you need to do ASAP is TAKE PICTURES! Your car, his truck, the ground where there might be debris ... get all these pieces of information before they disappear.

Then when you get to ICBC on Friday say....

He hit me soo hard that my Zerosport Body kit, Turbo XS turbo back, VF34 Turbo, Blitz Front mount Intercooler, EDM HID lights, HKS coilover, ADVAN RGII wrapped with SO-3's, and 5 carat bling bling "i" emblem fell off............ and ironically delivered by Purolator
