Default interest in new 3 inch exhaust

Friends of mine that own a well known, established race shop want to get my FXT to get measurements to produce a 3 inch SS catback. I was wondering what kind of interest there is in another option besides the Cobb catback.

Let me know what you'd like in a catback. I will probably install the trailer hitch so I'd want the catback to be compatible. I'm not sure what tip would be available but their current exhausts utilize an angled cut 4 inch tip. I think 4 would be too big but 3.5 would probably be good. I'd also like it to be fairly quiet. They have an exhaust of the STI now that is both deep sounding and quiet. I'll see if I can get sound clips of that.

Bump the thread and let me know. Price would be cheaper than the Cobb. Probably about 500-550 range.

FWIW, they are also going to be a ECUtek dealer too.

Frank

what i'd like actually is an affordable axle-back option. a slightly more aggressive note than stock ya know? An aural tachometer, if you will.

lucien2,

I'll let them know. I'm trying to get the car up on the lift Monday. I'm in your neck of the woods, BTW.

Thanks! Yea I don't see myself delving into the kind of mods that really make a cat-back or turbo-back a worthwhile investment. But I would like a little more aural feedback from the stock system. Not an intrusive in-cabin drone of course, but a sportier note that one could discern with the windows down. Like on an autocross course for instance. I don't miss the drone of my Brullen-equipped Legacy, but I do miss not having to look at the tach so much. If an STi muffler bolted up, I'd do that.
