Default Are everyones Keyless Entry/Alarms like this?!

I have the weirdest acting keyless entry/alarm system. Just trying to figure out if it is like this by design or its just me. A little background....
I bought my 2002 WRX in May of 2001. It came with keyless entry and factory alarm. The one thing I always hated is if I am sitting in the car with the keys in the ignition and someone goes to get in with the door locked, accidently hitting the "lock" button instead of the "unlock" button, always arms the alarm. And I always of course forget which way locks and which way unlocks (*sigh*). Anyway, about 6 months ago I got a turbo timer. Now we all know how you have to cut the wire that tells the alarm (door locks, whatever) that the car is still running so that you can arm it. Well now, if I am driving down the freeway say, and someone goes to roll down the window and hits the wrong switch, the alarm arms... then starts going off. Of course you cant turn the damn thing off without taking the key out. And then to top it all off, if the alarm goes off then that damn light will blink (because it doesnt know that you have cleared it) until you disconnect and reconnect the battery! I realize that if I want the turbo timer than I have to deal with it, but it just seems so bizarre that the alarm arms when you lock the doors! Is everyones like this?!

No, the alarm should not arm when you lock the doors from inside with the door lock button on the door, at least mine doesn't. The alarm should be controlled through the keyless entry module, not the door. You have a wiring problem, don't know what would cause it either. I'm sure the timer has added to the problem, but you had a problem before you installed the timer. Wish I could help you. Good luck.

turbo timer+alarm will give you a problem if you don't install it properly... i am no expert but there is a lot of thread about alarm and turbo timer and how to set it up properly.

your alarm should never arm if the key is in. no matter what you do. Now if this started after the turbo timer then that's the problem, but it seems like you said it happened before?

Well - the alarm is supposed to arm if you open the door (with the car off) and use the "lock" button to lock all of the doors - the alarm arms as soon as the door closes. Not sure if it arms when you are just sitting in the car (I don't think it does) - maybe cutting that wire confuses the system so that it thinks the door is open and the engine is off, and arms the alarm?
