IMO, which is based on much experience with this at Autocross, is for spirited driving run about 3-4 lbs higher than what is listed on the pillar for spirited driving. Maintain the bias for front to rear, that is based of the weight at each end of the car. Try this and watch your tread-wear. Wear in the middle, reduce pressure, on the edges increase. I run 255's on my STi now, which had 225's stock, and I have had no problems.

I agree to maintain the bias front to rear. When I run stock pressures, I get wear on the outside edges of the tires, mainly in the front. Toe is at zero and camber is 1-2 degrees.

My tires wear evenly if I run near 50 for those Hankooks. Each tire is different. The stock door pressures are for the stock tires.

Try 47/43. My tires are 205/55/16... so even that comes to play. You might be able to go lower with the smaller sidewalls and have a comfortable ride and normal wear too.

I experimented in autocross with chalk and found the high 40's netted me better times and less sidewall roll. These tires have a very soft sidewall.

I agree, I had never put much thought into the tire pressure with the different tire and wheel, but did notice the outside edges wearing on the tires. I just had an alignment two days ago so everything is within specifications.

So you have used the same Hankook's and were using around 50psi?

Okay I will see what works. I am going on vacation to Cape Cod and wanted to make sure they would be at the best for driving longer distances.

Thank you bother prochucker and cmiovino for your input and help!

Default 2011 wrx running sluggish

Bone stock. just curious if its normal or not for my 2011 wrx hatchback to be running sluggish on some days. i live on long island, in New york, and lately the temperatures have been varying from 60-70 degrees farenheit. this is usually when the car runs sluggish off the line. but once it cools down below 60 degrees at night, the car runs how it should..will my car run differently on different days depending on the temperature/humidity? or does that all stop once i start modding and get a tune?

appreciate the help

Yes outside temperature will definitely affect performance.... I would say if you have 30+ deg swings in temp from day to night you will easily feel the difference.

The question is, by sluggish do you mean it feels like you have less power or does it feel choppy?? You will definitely feel as if you have less power in high heat... And it feels dramatically different in 90-100+ temperatures...

I know I'm late to the party, but this is a great post. I can't wait to get home from deployment and back to my wrx.
