Default WD 120GB hard drive reading as 32 GB in Win XP?

I installed a 120 GB HD (IDE) on my computer to add some space to complement my nearly full 40GB hard drive. Problem is that Win XP is only reading it as 32 GB. I installed Win XP Service Pack 1 to see if that would do anything, but no luck. Any suggestions? I read something about a 137 GB barrier (which my computer at 40 + 120 would easily cross), does this have anything to do with it?

Sounds like a new OS on an old motherboard. Like he said, BIOS update.

Did you format it as NTFS or FAT32? Or are you just talking about the available new volume space in Disk Administrator?

It's formatted as a NTFS drive.

Exactly how do I do a BIOS upgrade? I'm not sure how to do that (as stupid as it sounds). The computer was built in August 2002 if that helps.
