Angry No Sale

Well, this is it, my final post here. Subaru has officially lost my business. After 4 months of BS, they now won't even guarantee that I can even get the Baja I want at all. So, I've cancelled my order and pickewd up an '01 Silverado Z-71 instead. Since Subaru nor the dealer seemed to have any interest in making this deal, fine, I'll go somewhere that does.

So Long!

That sucks...sorry to hear about that. I know you went through a lot of hassle all for nothing in the end. Good luck with your Z71. It will probably do a lot more than the Baja except for being easier to park maybe.

Take care.

I'm bummed to hear that. A bad/lazy dealer can rotten a happy customer, I guess. But seriosuly, that's exactly why I had 3 dealers compete against each other when I got mine...

same here, I worked three dealerships to get what I wanted.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune I hope the Z71 works out for you.

I guess that I was luky that the dealership had a color that was to my liking and was able to make a deal on that one. I am extreamly happy with mine. I was at the dealership this weekend getting my wifes forester a oil change and head gasket replaced and they are extreamly unhappy with SOA and not telling them what is going on with the Baja's and that a lot of customers are leaving. Their only guess is that they hit the alotment long before they planned and havn't told any of the dealers. But on the plus side, they were going to preview the '05 legacy and outback turbo's that night . They anticapte not having this problem with the '05's becasue of the number of the orders.

I hope that you like your Z71. That is a nice truck, but was out of my price range and the dealership was not willing to deal lower than MSRP, so that was a absolute no for me. And the Baja was what I wanted anyways so I didn't try all that hard. They really wanted me to buy the Colorodo, but were not going to deal on it because it was too new.

Good luck with GM

Anyways the 04 Baja allotment has long been over. The demand exceeded the supply. 03 Baja sales were so lackluster they werent expecting much more than that. Anyone who wants an 04 now will have to dealw with whatever is left on the lot, or wait for 05.

I rented a z71 when I went to pick up my snugtop. Nice truck. A little to be for every day use (and costly on the gass) but comfortable on the 4 hour drive.

I've had troubles with local dealers too. They have had alright selection and been willing to make orders but seemed way too hard up to sell me a car. I'm not thanking to good kind of hard up for a sale where they make you a good deal, this is the sales manager humping my leg and then asking me 20 questions about why I'm not leaving the lot on the first day with a Baja. I don't know about you all but I don't know anyone who buys a car the first day they see it. I'm going to dirve it atleast 3 times, talk numbers and options atleast 2 days and let them sweat my decision for atleast 3 more days before I'm ready to talk again. Any how, hope you like that Z71, my buddy got an '03, he likes it but wishes he had waited a month and got a Nissan Titan insted.
