emanage question, my laptop doesnt have a serial port!!! what to do?

as the title states, also when i turn on the car to see if the unit even comes on the active light doesnt turn on? not getting power?

get a USB to serial adapter. I use this one http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...e=1&Sku=517161

My guess is that you need to connect the laptop to the main unit and turn some of the maps on before it will work, but it could also be a wiring problem.
