I actually was just looking at the cobb stage 3 performance kit which says it puts you over 200 hp and yes the N1 is awesome.

-cobb CAI
-Brullen Headers
-cams
-lightweight pulleys
-lightweight flywheel
-chip
-brakes to stop all that brand new power
-prodrive springs
-bigger rear swaybar

I doubt that will get you 200 at the wheels though....maybe 215 at the crank?

on a related note...would an rs with all the stuff mentioned above be able to take a stock WRX?

I figure similar hp, but better low end torque, and no turbo lag in the RS may put em pretty close.

I'd hope it would, not like a stock wrx is the fastest thing in the world.

remember that what a stock rs makes at the flywheel...a stock wrx will make make at the ground...mod for mod a wrx will always take a rs....there was a very similar thread to this on rs25....

obviously a similarily modded wrx will take an rs, but i always wondered if a modded rs could take a stock wrx.

They start off with 60hp more at the crank than us, and a few bolt-ons aren't going to give us the same crank hp that they start with, but the rs also has better low end torque. I figured with similar hp, we'd take em at the start and lose a bit of ground over the 1/4 mile, but still take em by a bit in the end.

It would probably be easier to just pop into the proven power forum and see what kinda numbers NA 02s are posting.

If you want to stroke the ego of your 2.5, sort your suspension then hit a nice tight autocross course. You'll spank many a wrx by pulling out of corners while they wait for the turbo to spool up.

dont give the stock wrx to much credit as btapper said it really isnt that fast. but you have a handicap with the heavier new age rs. 200 at the wheels was my goal once to you will learn its an expensive one and almost not worth it. but if you want to get close heres what id do:

-cobb intake
-lightweight crank puley
-cobb headers
-track pipe
-cat back exhaust
well that wont be 200 but a nice gain after those youd need cams and what not

Default more power

I pulled 1/2 car to 1 car length on a stock WRX from a dead stop, unitl shifting to 3rd. Then it's all over for me, the rex slowly pulls away. Not bad all the same. Mods: cobb intake, proecm chip, mrt header w/brullen catback, and light pulley. Have fun, Keith

you could:

-trade engine with mine, and spank wrx all day

OR

-Cobb intake
-full equal lenght header back
-cobb spicey cams/and heads
-polished intake manifold
-Greddy e-manage, along with wrx injectors
-stronger springs and valves to allow higher redline.

after that you are on your own.

200 hp to the wheels is going to be tough to do on a daily driver. You will need to make some compromises on driveability to get that much power out of the ej25.

I would start with
-Cobb intake
-Lightweight pulley set
-Lightweight flywheel
-Better clutch
-equal length full headerback with no cats
-Spicy cams
-Headwork (porting, polishing, ti retainers, heavier springs, etc)
-New pistons to increase compression ratio
-Engine management (ideally a link or tec II / III or emanage, maybe safc and itc)
-Extrude honed intake manifold or complete refabbed intake with shorter runners and bigger plenum.
-phenolic intake spacers

Then you will be worrying about that power to the ground so you will need better tires and a good suspension setup.

Then you will need to stop and will be wanting a BBK.

I'll tell you what though, a RS with the above mods would be a thing of beauty. I would LOVE for someone to go this hardcore on a NA build and then really spend the time to fine tune it.

Some people are close, (DCOTY for one, Maybe Monsoon (plans?) ) this summer will be interesting to see what people get done.

WORD

u'll have a better chance kicking a WRX's a$$ on the twisties by moding ur suspension than winning him on a straight line going all motor. 1/4 mile dont mean $h*t afterall.
