Anyone have any info on the 2005 STi?? My two big questions are... Will a sunroof be an option this year?... and... Will HP still be at 300??

I have an '04, but would love a sunroof...

seeing as how Subaru took the effort to make this car light, thinner glass, no sound proofing, etc...I hope they dont muff it up by cutting a hole in the roof and adding weight with a sunroof. The only reason for a hole in the roof is a roof vent.

Yaw control? That would put it notably ahead of the EVO in the feature department. Granted, the overseas EVOs come with AYC however we don't get that here. So perhaps Subaru will step up to the plate and give that to us along with our nice little DCCD?

Got the translation to the Canadian bulleting on the 2005 STi changes; here are the highlights:

* Jantes en alliages à sept rayons= mag well whith 10 spokes

* transmission à commande directe = ?

* système de commande électrique de conduite automobile = I think it is an electric power stering, replacing the hydraulic system.

* Différentiel autobloquant hélicoidal = torsen differential : usualy the weel whith less traction will spin, with a Torsen differential the traction is transfert to the weel that have the best traction.

* Capteur de taux de lacets pour le système dccd = electronic driving assistance using the engine or the break for stabilizing the car when someting get out of control.

The bulletin is posted at http://www.imprezawrxsti.com/postnuk...ewtopic&t=8220

I know is not something we already didn't know, but it intrigues me anyway.

While the wider wheels have been mentioned a lot, you are making an assumption that it comes with 235's.....

Good news is though the EVO is gone after 2005. Apparently Mitsu is going to focus heavily on the 4th gen Eclipse.

Where'd you hear that the EVO is gone after 2005? EVO's have been around for years. That sounds crazy. The EVO and Eclipse are totally different.

The EVo's and the Eclipse's used to be almost the same car. Same drivetrain, engine, uspension; everything but the body. With the reintroduction of AWD to the 2006 Eclipse and the fact that they are toying around with a turbo model again they are going to possibly put all their eggs in one basket and offer a global car.

The biggest thing about the EVO MR is the weight, and I doubt it will be as light here as it is anywhere else in the world. It has the suspect 6MT transmission that they didn't want to put into the US EVO to begin with as well. It's basically an EVO with the 6MT, active diffs, different wheels, and Bilstein shocks, for $33k.

Everything else is fine, can be replace.

I am praying the wider rear fender flair rumor is not true, I don't want to buy another new car again

Anyone know? Jamie?

I want to know bad.

You mean AVCS (active valve control system)? Only CVT I know of is a continuously variable transmission.
